I just wanted to add that personally when trading directionally, I am not real big on worrying about the "exact" cost of the option in terms of "underpriced" or "overpriced". I would much rather buy slightly overpriced calls on a stock that moves up a lot then to buy "cheap" calls on a stock...

tradingcards, I'm not sure of any book that could tell you exactly what strategy to put on at any moment or what. I guess trying to buy straddles or something like that purely based on data entered into a machine would be kind of like buying a stock just on fundamental analysis or something...
