Is it just me, or is the .50 drop BAD for the econ?
howdy all, I'm a 4th year BSc Hon Econ student and full time daytrader. I was very surprised by the 1/2 pt reductions, i was in the 1/4pt camp with a possible hint for another 1/4 next time around if situations hadnt resolved. 1/2 pt reduction seems like a quick fix for the markets but long run... -

to start it off i was in the 1/4pt reduction camp with POSSIBLY a hint for more at the next meeting if it really started to slide off the table - but cutting the rates but 1/2 a pt each seems to a bit drastic? FEDs obviously know the impact they will have on inflation, gold, the dollar etc so is... -

had decent day going and then managed to give it all away in the last hour. finished -20...2 red days in a row ouch forgot to take blotter pic before leaving office hopefully can rebound well tomorrow, still +ve for the week tho -

Your Fed meeting sentiment next week?
no rate cut = tank 1/4 pt as expected probably sellling off the news 1/2 pt (not going to happen) = market ripping however - no rate cut means that the feds believe the market is not going to hell and the market doesnt need to be saved 1/2 pt means more or less the opposite 1/4 pt... -
