    Options Trading Journal

I like your style. From my brief look at your trades, it looks like you are picking short-term tops and bottoms and using oversold/overbought as your basic indicator (along with some general fundamental analysis I presume). And you are using credit spreads instead of outright swing trades...

Best Firm For Large Option Orders

I wonder if OptionsHouse's ability to piggyback on PEAK6's backend means that their technology and trading capabilities are being under-recognized.

Best Firm For Large Option Orders

I trade 500-lot credit spreads at OptionsHouse and I am happy with them. I'm just a retail trader, so I don't know anything about direct access.

margin requirements when legging out of of iron condor

How could the margin requirement of the long options be 0? Doesn't that imply that someone could put on an iron condor, then take the other 3 legs off, and then free-ride on the (supposedly) free long options?

margin requirements when legging out of of iron condor

JohnGreen, Thanks for the confirmation. I had another incident where I took off one side of an iron condor, and was forced to take off the 2nd side. So, instead of taking off the whole 2nd side, I just tried to take off the short half since that is the part the makes the margin...

margin requirements when legging out of of iron condor

I trade through OptionsHouse. I do a lot of credit spreads, and many times after I put a credit spread on, I'll put on another credit spread on the other side of the market and effectively leg into an iron condor. When I put on the second leg of the iron condor, the order summary shows that...

    negotiated option commissions

When I said "stay in the background", I meant that you should not take the lead in a conversation that you clearly know nothing about. Discusssion groups, as you attemped to educate me about, work best when the replies come from educated people. You didn't ask. You posted an answer that was...

    negotiated option commissions

I looked at IB before I posted. They only give volume breaks for over 10,000 options per month. And the volume breaks only apply to the volume over 10,000. A simulation would only be helpful to compare published rates. I am looking for what the unpublished rates (i.e. negotiated rates) are...

Sorry to sound dense, but what's the difference?

    negotiated option commissions

I have recently started trading options in decent size. This month I did 2,250 options, and will probably be doing triple this a year from now. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether my current trading volume would qualify for negotiated rates? I am trading through E-Trade right now and...
