    Amazing Forex Basket Trading

Hi increasenow, this is very interesting. I have a programmer working on a frontend for me to do these types of things: create FX spot baskets and synthetic pairs (Long EUR/USD and short USD/JPY as an example). Yes, everyone has to do their own DD of course - fully agree. But I'd like to...

    US debt / GDP ratio

I guess Sweden works OK, but Scandies aren't really socialistic - the term is just not being used in it's proper historical context by Americans. Any hint of a collective solution seems to be socialism! I'm not pro-socialism for the US, but it's amazing how backwards the country is -...

If one leg is a lot more volatile than the other, I would be surprised to see the pair correlated at all!?

What to expect from Ninjatrader 7.0 ?

Nothing for pairs/spreads - it's crazy that they're lacking anything of the sort when they have devoted so much NT7 development time to further working on their charting.

Gold above 1200$ an ounce in 2009?

As many have remarked, gold's journey is tied to the USD index. Since seemingly "everyone" is short the dollar, I think we're going to see the index rally which will send gold sinking to the 800 level or so. The next few months. However, a bit further out - I agree, we're going to have to see a...

    US debt / GDP ratio

The terms "socialist" an "socialism" doesn't really apply to the state of US affairs. "Corruption" is the word you should focus on.

Can anyone recommend a trading audio feed?

Using Ransquawk for FX, they have an interest rates and energy channel for sure - don't know if they do US equities. TradeTheNews is another service which is used by many, I cannot vouch for their quality as it's not my market and I don't use them.

People do not 'learn from their mistakes'

This is pretty interesting: The old adage that we "learn more from our mistakes" could be wrong, with new research showing our brain only learns from experience when we do something right. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/5934013/People-do-not-learn-from-their-mistakes.html

Front Running, Flash Orders, or Blackbox/Algorithmic Manipulation?

The only thing that would be fair would be if all the ECNs were closed down and you had ONE order book, like Globex has for ES. So AAPL is only one marketplace, where everything gets matched. The BDs (and algo companies) would be screwed of course, but the market would be fair.

all those traders who put up "$5000"

Are the leverage ratios upheld when you bring more cash, 50k cash gives 1m bp - 200k cash gives 4m bp etc? Just curious as I'm not involved in this part of the business at all.

How far can the bulls go?

I think the catalyst we need is the one that starts sending the markets downwards again, right now we're floating and I suspect maybe for a while more. However, it seems certain that the 'recovery' won't be steep and we're stabilizing at a lower level. So the catalyst needs to pound that reality...

How far can the bulls go?

1250 for SPX seems a bit too high for me too. I'm thinking Dow 10k, which would be around 1030-50 for SPX I guess. I'm not ruling out a superspike scenario, however.

best books you've read on trading

This thread should definitely include The Zurich Axioms by Marc Gunther. After trading for oh-so-many years and reading too many books on trading or investing to even bother counting, this was a book that stood out from the rest and immediately rose to my Top 5-ish list along with Reminiscences...
