Daytrading has made me a millionaire

Yeah...sometimes, only having $10,000 to start out with can be a blessing.

    Chart pattern percentages

I'm not really into lots of patterns, like cup and handle, penants, head and shoulders, etc... But, I do like this pattern, a double- bottom, or double-top with a divergence using something like stochastics. Be warned though, there much easier to see in hindsight... :)...

Need a quick lesson on E-Minis

Thanks for the post rs7...it's nice to hear from guys who've "been there-done that". I have the McMillan book, and yes, you're right about the commissions making a lot of strategies impractical for the off-floor trader. I always thought some of the...

Need a quick lesson on E-Minis

Yea, looking back...I think I could have done much better using limit-orders, and taking the time to use formulas to determine an options "true value".

You might check out the Victor Sperandeo book..."Trader Vic II--Principles of Professional Speculation". He shares a lot of interesting insights. Here's a quote to get your mouth watering... :) " If there is a gap, and it is going to reverse, it will do so 10 to 15...

Need a quick lesson on E-Minis

I used to trade options a long time ago, and this is why I switched to futures. When I bot an option, the "time premium" always screwed me. For example, say I bot an OEX call option for 10 and the market is at 500.00 (or something). Well, if the market moved to...

    the size issue

Hmmmm...:D I think you might have a point there, Darkhorse. Maybe, when I read a little further down and he mentioned that it was much easier to short the S&P than stocks and that you get much more bang for the buck, I assumed he was more "at ease" with the S&P, and thus...

    the size issue

That's probably what Marty meant: and why I made that post. There's less "pressure" getting in and out of 100 S&Ps than 100,000 shares.

LOL...sorry, I wasn't trying to garnish any undeserved credit. Yes, it is a quote from Marty. Here it is and please forgive me... :D "I don't feel the same pressure when I own 100,000 shares of stock as when I own 100 S&Ps"...Marty Schwartz

This guy has a good point though...you're gonna feel a hell of of lot less pressure trading a 100 S&Ps, as opposed to a 100,000 shares of stock.

What happens when you reveal your true identity?

Yea...or saying you're a Jew and everybody thinking all I care about is money.( come to think of it, that's all I do care about)...hehehe

What happens when you reveal your true identity?

I've found that out, too. Most people who don't really know anything about trading, think a daytrader is someone who makes 200 or so trades a day. That was the impression they got from reading the paper.

What happens when you reveal your true identity?

Hehehe...that's right. When I first started trading we didn't have personal computers. I did all my charts by hand from newspaper quotes. People didn't even use the word "daytrader". You were a "speculator".

What happens when you reveal your true identity?

I once told a guy that I was a commodity trader, then he proceded to tell me about his brother who was a genius. I told this other fellow the same thing, and he started talking about how he planned on going back to school to get his Masters' in physics. Then after that lunatic went...

Can Day Traders make a good living.

Not a dumb question at all...kind of interesting. What if I told you I was making about $150 a day on average? Most traders would agree that is very possible trading the ES-emini. You can make that(or lose it) on one trade a day, easy. Some traders might say that's...
