The market will not go down until...

Do you just have your canned statement on your clipboard and go through all the threads and hit paste? You must be trying to have the highest number of posts on ET. To the main subject of this thread, I agree 100%. This bull run is a melt up from all the freaking liquidity out in the world...

What would you do if you had a profitable system...

First of all that is not a system. The only one that can consistently and profitably make money scalping 1-2 cents are the ecn's and market makers because they also get a cut of the commission and trade for free. Just in slippage alone in the real world trading environment there's no way to...

    New Workstation For Daytrade

Get raptor 10,000 rpm hard drives, there is a huge noticable difference in speed.

    Buy QQQQ puts

You should really buy a minimum of 5 months of time for insurance. Otherwise the time decay will eat up any gains the puts will make. The other problem is that put options right now don't really pay you that much because volatility is so low. Believe me, if the market tanks, you will be...

    Qcharts and Vista

Case in point, vista sucks. It was an udate for micro$oft, it doesn't benefit the end user in any way. Most of the new features are so minimal, for the hassle of upgrading to vista with all the driver conflicts and such.

    Marekt Weakness- here is why ;;;;;;

This world is awash in liquidity. The only thing you should be thinking about (hoping for) is a good pullback to buy, mortgage your house type buying. This is 2007/1987 you better believe we are in a major melt up. Once we melt up to the point where everyone is in, then you can talk about shorting.

Did I buy from a tradebot?

Is this post an attempt to sound intellectual? Trade bot? What the hell is that? There's so many players in the game; to try and figure out who took your trade is inconsequential. You should be more concerned with whether your setup was correct to make a reasonable profit. If you're...

i feel bad for those that bought FIG

You can't short an IPO in the first 30 days.

    Exact Entries

Never use market orders. The specialists always give you the worst possible fill. If a move takes off and you put in a market order, you're more likely to get filled at the top of the move right as it starts to reverse. I've seen market orders 10 cents outside the last print.

Buying a stock and short selling

It is not illegal to be short and long the same stock simultaneously. Some institutions do that to defer their taxes. You lock in your gains without showing that you have made a profit on paper. That's pretty much the only reason. You're better to be long a stock and short the index if you want...

tomorrow is a short for me again, and should be for you too

Typically between february-may you get choppy markets, less trendy even trendless. My strategy is to let the market define a range in the next couple weeks and just trade the sideways channel.

    No Dealing Desk

I've been using fxcm no dealing desk. It doesn't do much of anything. The spreads on eur/usd only get down to 2 pips every once in a while and usually only for a split second before you can actually get an order in. I also noticed that it takes longer to confirm the order in the no dealing desk...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Speaking of the Plunge protection team, m3 is no longer reported. So we're no longer able to know when they decide the market has climbed enough to pad the economy. Then their buying will back off.

    cnbc's new contest.

It's still worth giving it a shot for a chance to win some money. You don't lose anything but a little time. I did one of these in a university class about 5 years ago. Pretty unrealistic, but if you catch a few good bounces you could be on top.

Come On And Load Up We Are Getting These Stocks A Lot Cheaper Today!!!

Congratulations on what? I see a very weak retracement of the selloff. Pretty much sideways action. If you're long, you better hope for a stronger rally than this by the end of the day or you might get run over by another wave of selling.

What's the name of this strategy?

I tried that recently on aapl earnings. I bought the cheapest .10 cent options. The problem is that time value eats you up much more than the price can move to make you money.

Doesn't anyone know about seasonality? We're in the transitional zone. Time for some profit taking.

I Blew Up - What Now?

Work for a year, paper trade and refine your technique until you hit a milestone, like 10 good trades in a row, or a certain amount of profit. Within that year, save $100 per week, which is not that tough if you budget. Then next year you will have 5 grand to either open a futures acct, or go...

When you get back to even - quit?

When you're in that situation, you have to ask yourself: are you trading to break even for fun, or are you trading to make money. If you have a trade, and nothing has changed except the best entry price is different, stick with it.
