very interesting topic. i think it depends a bit on the timeframe one is trading - but there is the old saying, that the best trades work right away - so i for example trade on the 1 minute chart and it happens sometimes that the trade moves within my stoploss for several minutes and i watch...

i had a tws connection problem recently - it lastet about 5 or 6 minutes - but afterwards ib told me that the problems was solved on their side within one minute. the troubles after that minute had to do with my isp (don't ask me about details). however - today the same again - tws...

good idea. most of the days the first 2 hours are the best ones anyway. and especially for a new trader who is not yet consistently profitable - what sense would it make for him to trade all the day every day? none i'd say.

i guess the whole story boils down to that everything has to be done one first time before everybody accepts that it CAN be done - that does not mean EVERYBODY can do it. have you ever achieved something that you didn't know you can do it? great feeling that is, right?! afterwards you know...

yeah - there were days when es was around 1500 pts - then it went down to under 800. should make a difference i'd say.

i doubt that somebody who thinks trading is a bad job can ever be consistently profitable. maybe it's got something to do with religion - like "i'm so guilty - i am and was a bad bad boy - so i have to donate ..." (or whatever - i don't care about religion). but anyway - great post...

if this is the way you think then you should probably stop trading. see it this way - if you are a profitable trader - you don't take your money from the poor - or do you think there are really poor people in the market? and who cares what other people say? i do not do you think that...
