If your trading through Scottrade or the like that regularly sells your order or internalizes your order, the slippage of a penny here or there on thousands of shares makes a huge difference on the bottom line. Online brokers might as well just say that they have 9.99 trades + 1 or 2 cents...

I've found the best way to build confidence is to use a scaling approach and only add to my winning positions. This way I can buy a small position of a home run stock and still sleep. If it's up in the morning, I can scale in some more. Another book to read on confidence is Mark Douglas's...

How do online firms still get away with screwing their customers with payment for order flow? It always amazes me that so many people still think their getting a good deal on commission and have no idea where there order is being executed.

If you do enough volume, most brokers will reimburse alot of your costs. ie news services etc. I do like trade-ideas.com for $45/mo. though and briefing for $25
