Hardest and Most Valuable Things In Trading

You have excellent risk management skill as you showed it here again, but 4 wrong out 5 trades is quite unusual for you though. Was it your strategy gave wrong signals or you over-analyzed the situation and that caused the those untimely entries? Just curious.

    Matcha's Dow E-mini Journal

Quite a few people to my knowledge with engineering background became very successful when they decided to switch to trading as their full time job. The reason I think is because normally people from science and technology background (if they succeeded in their profession) got very good training...

    Passage to $1 Million

Did you read NoDoji's other post in other thread, (it is not about stop) " A perfectly balanced coin is tossed by a perfectly calibrated machine 50 times in a row and comes up heads. ........." You totally miss the point that she is trying to make, which is that a stop should tell...

What works for her may not necessary works for me. I am not into price action strategy, though I pay attention to how Anek and she trade. She doesn't claim to be a guru and she didn't demand $100,000 for an hour.

Hardest and Most Valuable Things In Trading

She had been quite successful in trading with a variety of stocks before she SIM trading ES and CL. ES and CL should be more challenging than securities especially CL.

Hardest and Most Valuable Things In Trading

Have you noticed how NoDoji SIM traded ES and CL for months and developed a 80-90% win rate strategy and become very profitable these days trading these two instruments?

    Keeping Records

I think NoDoji is quite impressive in demonstrating that one can achieve in trading. She started it as a musician but she is now doing a lot better than most professional trading experts in terms of profit ratio and success rates of trades. Her passion, dedication and perseverance and hard...

Honestly I don't think I am in a position to offer any advice. I am struggling in finding something that I can have consistent results. A robust and reliable strategy and a disciplined operator, that is the goal I am striving for at the moment. On the other hand, I believe you have a lot to...

So you program your strategy and manually execute the trades? I see. I feel the same thing about automation and try to second guess the system. No, I am not a native English speaker, that is why I tried to edit my post a little better and make fewer errors.

Your professor Joe Doaks' stop strategy should be excellent as I follow the ET forum recently I can tell that you are a very successful expert in automation trading.

You can experiment with the key numbers (only 2-3) to pick the levels you like it. For example, you can pick a small number in certain parameter to give you 5 point or a larger number for 8 point profit, but it is NOT a fixed point ATR unlike the regular ATR stop strategy, it trails the trades...

    Keeping Records

I use Professor Joe Doaks' stop strategy. It is an unpublished method. Kindly educate a nearly blind wheelchair-bound old man averse to spending more than 30 seconds looking at others' approaches. What is LeBeau's? It is a trailing stop strategy based on different ATR...

It was the 14.5 points it moved from 3:19 to 3:38 ET that hurt. Otherwise I would be drinking White Star instead of Domaine Carneros '06 tonight. Have you integrated the LeBeau Stops strategy into your automation? I find it works pretty well and could save substantial pts in NQ in...

QUOTE]Quote from garage sale: It's true but it is more of an exception though. Many times on days like today you can never find a good entry point. You trade NQ right? Today from 9:30 to 10:00, it moved only 10 pts (1838-1848), then it moved another 20 pts (48-68) after 10:00.

    Funding the Trade Account

This guy triples his account within ONE month from $3000 to over $9000 (If everything is true as he posted in real time). If you are that good then you can generate your capital soon enough, or you can learn from him to double/triple your account within short period of time no matter how small...

    Weather forecast and trading

Weather forecast is now much more accurate and timely than it was about 10 or 15 years ago due to technology advance and computer power. Basically current data are collected and analyzed and predictions are made based on working models and algorithms. Trading is much the same or similar game...

The true profession of a man is to find his way to himself.

So many scientists and engineers who patented their discovery or invention and made a great fortune out of it. Wisdom and riches, it is easier for W to get R if one has some practical mind, but not the other way around though.

How do you know you have an edge

If you are a trend follower, that would give you an edge if your system can tell you WHEN is the chop/consolidation/conflicting move/fighting of opposite forces, and you just stay out of it and relax.
