Pat Tillman and Mohammad Atta: Ethical Equals?

Not surprised at all. I had the exact thought as I read through the deepening debate on "ART's motivation". Yes... how could anyone post factual information which burst thru shared delusional bubbles of goodness and moral superiority?

Pat Tillman and Mohammad Atta: Ethical Equals?

ART posted some links that provide well documented proof that the dropping of two nuclear bombs on Japan was militarily unnecessary..... leading to the obvious conclusion that Nagasaki and Hiroshima were two of the most spectacular, vicious acts of terrorism in history.

Pat Tillman and Mohammad Atta: Ethical Equals?

Not that your opinion on the nuking of Japan matter was causing me too much distress, but I am glad we agree on this. :)

Pat Tillman and Mohammad Atta: Ethical Equals?

What a brilliant association!!!! What you posted below about Truman is one of the darkest and least known aspects of WW2- nuking Japan was an unnecessary act of terrorism mainly meant to terrorize the USSR and the rest of the world. The blood on the hands of and denial in this nation run...

why i have more than 1 name and constantly consider limiting x posts per name

Really?? How is it that the KKK and a miriad of other racist groups are legal? When I was growing up here in Chicago, I remember a huge uproar b/c the courts allowed the American Nazi party to march straight through Skokie with their message of an incomplete holocaust... Hate crimes...

Michael Moore opens his mouth again

Marx arguably understood the dynamics and weaknesses of the capitalist system better than anyone. Specifically and relevant to this topic, he understood that the booms and bust cycles of capitalism compel to the powerful countries to expand markets by force, if necessary, to prevent contractions...

Michael Moore opens his mouth again

Uhh.... Nitro has about as much obligation to give his money away as you have to join the US army and back up our imperial policy with your own blood.

Michael Moore opens his mouth again

Like it or not, the US is now an occupying military force. Forces opposing us are more similar than not to other anti-colonial struggles through the years...

    US-Israeli Friendship

Yes.... Plus let us not forget where Israel is located and the black gold which sits under the sands of its neighbors. Also, since Iran's shaw was "lost", the US has needed a dependable proxy in the region. Religion and Democracy are but part of the story.

Under the shadow of the Iraq war, Israel practices asassination....

I confess to not being as up to date on the above conflicts you mention. "Progress" rather than solved seems to characterize the above situations at best. My point was that resolution of the core issues is what ends these types of conflicts rather than military force. The US used to have...

Under the shadow of the Iraq war, Israel practices asassination....

Industrial machine per se may not be key but is often associated with what is--- a nation. A nation entitles something to lose, which gives force its leverage. What do you have to lose when you see yourself as occupied? This is why history has no examples of force short of genocide...

Under the shadow of the Iraq war, Israel practices asassination....

Really? Where does history show the ending of an uprising of an occupied people through assassination?

POLL: Who is more evil, Bush or Osama?

Sad story about the trailer park.... but not sure how it relates to the open, deliberate usage of a known poison on populated areas as practiced in recent wars. Here is a balanced (as much as can be found anyway) article on the subject. DU is definitely in use in Iraq...

POLL: Who is more evil, Bush or Osama?

Whether you think the post 9/11 imperial military expansion of the United States, Bush is responsible for the death of more innocent civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq than Osama killed in the US. Also, for those who think Bush has some great character advantage, let us not forget that the US...

Totally Agree with your post. I would be very turned off to see any vendors out "socializing" with us Friday. Enough already...... it often seems like there are more predators than prey in this field. Looking forward to seeing fellow traders friday evening at Rivers. :)

For 2 reasons, one selfish. 1. I cannot attend Thurs due to other commitment. :( 2. There is a good reason Friday is more crowded everywhere. Saturday is a much better AM to recover from being out drinking than Fri. :)
