Closed my JUL OEX 610/620 bear call. It was at 92% max profit. Took away $1.15 credit. Wasn't going to wait another month for just 8%.

DSL/CABLE Static ip vs not static ip?

It's probably the operating rules used by your cable provider. I'm on cable and I've had the same IP since March. Check with your provider to see what's happening. If there is a lot of expansion in your area, that could mean frequent re-numbering as more subscribers come on-line. But...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

I closed out by JUN 1200/1210 spread this morning taking a $259 loss. SPX hit 1222 about that time. I was glad the loss was only $259. No profit this month---last month neither.

    Trailing stop

I use trailing stops only on equities and only once I've reached my breakeven point. For options, I use a contingency. If the price of the parent stick reach a chosen level, I use that to trigger a buy/sell as appropriate.

Is there a formula that could be used. I've seen a couple but nithing where you could just plug in some number and get the calculation. I'm not too good at square roots.

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

Cache, a question. I'm still learning how to properly hedge. Why would using a long SPY put be better than a long SPX put? I have two SPX Bull Put spreads, JUN SPX 1225/1235 and JUN SPX 1200/1210. I hedged them with a JUN SPX 1245 Put.

Heather, I've not been trading indexes all that long, but I've seen significant differences between RUT and OEX and SPX. There is much more similarity between SPX and OEX, but RUT seems to have a distinct behavior that is different for the S&P indexes. Just my opinion.

Hey! I'm just trying to learn from y'all! Besides the chart looked like it'd be a bear break.

Bought APPL JUN 60P which is running nicely today. I have my sell trigger set for when AAPL hits $56 and stop-loss @ $63. If today's trend follows on tomorrow, I'll change to a $1 trailing stop-loss.
