Equities only. Pairs, various risk arb, scalping this & that. A bit of everything. Typical day is 3-4k. Last 2 days have been very nice.

No. I've never heard of it or ever seen it. I've opened over a dozen brokerage accounts, never seen one inquiry on my report. But if you answer that you've been a party in arbitration, other factors, it may occur.

Big charts is the only one that recognizes the change. -Symbol change info is directly from the ishares website. Symbol is now IEE, but seems they've made no announcement...it just happened.

Noticed that. Symbol for the index changed to IEE.....apparently. Big charts is the only one that has caught on to the change so far.

We know the programs are out there. Half of them are right here, ET'rs with automated programs. Futures will often trade at a premium/discount to cash as well. I'd venture that QQQQ's risk arb are gonna be tied to futures, and that what you saw was due to futures premium or liquidity...

Note that DIA did also spike down in tandem. The programs play the futures & DIA back and forth. Program risk arbs weren't big enough to soak up all the volume....but sure shoulda been by the next day! Liquidity and speed were also an issue to nail them both down.

Computer programs keep all the ETF's risk arbd within an inch of their life. I'd say within .02 on the QQQQ's at all times, most times .01. Why? Because many can trade for .001/share AND get ECN rebates. Multiply that by millions of shares. Not a bad daily take home! A 2% arb on the QQQQ's...

IB is unrealiable now as well, they are both in the same boat, in my opinion. MB has the standard direct access platform, while IB has something unique. If your a pro, you'll really appreciate the way that IB's platform is set up, after you learn it--it's excellent. MB has a nice simple...

I'm not sure what's changed, but whatever broker you use, AMEX fills are now FAR faster than they used to be...just in the last 2 weeks. Cancels are still slow as eternity.

Here's one i didn't see covered by anyone: THE IRS. The IRS does not allow margin in IRAs, any IRA that is used as collateral is deemed to have been fully distributed. This evokes the full taxes and penalties by the IRS. If audited, I'd highly suspect this type of debit balance behavior...
