Try the Larry McMillan books -- Options as a Strategic Investment and McMillan on Options. I'd try superbookdeals.com, they're usually cheaper than amazon (but they sell new books). Of course sometimes they don't have what you want.....

Definitely make sure you get RAID and dual internet connections (cable, dsl, whatever). Also make sure you have TWO routers -- they make dual WAN routers, but then all your connectivity still has a single point of failure -- and in my experience the dual WAN routers fail quite a bit..... SSB

I'm with def. I've had a trade busted and it took a lot of manual effort to reverse it. And the commissions were also reversed as def said. So I don't see how they can make money doing this...unless they're like the bank in the SNL commercial that makes money giving change -- how do they do it...

I don't think a ramdrive will help much -- from what I can tell (and I'm just guessing) it seems as if TS loads the data then runs the optimization with the data in memory....that's how I'd write it and how I would hope they did..... That program looks interesting....

I was short via Rydex 2x inverse S&P funds from early Sept 2002 into the bottom October and I gave back 90% of my paper profits because I didn't think the bottom was in.....it was.....

Another option -- just open an account with Refco -- at least then you'll lose your money quickly without the pain of it dragging out over weeks.....

What are the "regular trading hours" for the DAX futures? Not the full hours which are available on the eurex website, but the hours when the DAX itself is open. From the website it appears the bourse is open from 9 AM to 5:45 PM -- but I've seen 8:50 AM and also 5:30 PM as start/end times...

Could we maybe sign up for special accounts just for paper trading? I understand FA accounts are more complex -- but would it be possible to let us open single accounts just for paper trading? SSB

I asked them today, this is not available for FA accounts. Nice of them to say that up front. I'm hoping they can make it possible for us FA users to use it in single user mode, just to test fills and not worry about allocation (maybe they could just ignore those fields in the API). SSB
