Look, I'm not totally against prop firms in your situation. You took it the wrong way. Just consider who you are interviewing with. Don't make the mistake of starting at the wrong place. That will stay on your resume (per se) forever. A reputable place is very important.

I agree with Samba here. You graduated from a top school. You should be smart enough to see what these firms really are. Listen to what these traders are telling you. Good luck. :)

Software is pretty stable. Insufficient bells and whistles - no charts yet. Good for risk management. Rates are not the cheapest because they clear SLK.

From my experience, 2 or 3 traders using charting, analytics and level II's can take up some serious bandwidth when the market is active. A T-1, depending on where you are, might only cost $600/mo. If your idea of a small group is 5, that's only $120/mo/trader. My advice is not to save money...

I was referring to stock trading. Most prop deals are for stock traders although I am aware of some for futures. In stocks, you need more than 10k to daytrade. IMO, you should have more than your last 10k to trade or you will have a less chance to make it. You have to have staying power...

If you're going to start a trading room, no professional/experienced guys will join you if you're using and internet/dsl line. You have to step up. A T-1 these days are cheap.

Do you have multiple monitor cards or just one with an adaptor(s)? Which is the most cost effective way to do this that won't compromise performance? If you buy multiple monitor cards, what kind of RAM would you need for each. I see that good video cards can cost $300 each.
