Some of you might remember what happened during the crash of 1987, when the only trades that were getting executed were on NYSE. If you had Nasdaq stocks, you were out of luck. Granted, because of ecn's and some new rules it has gotten easier to trade Nasdaq, but in a grand scheme of things in...

IB does not route to regional exchanges

It doesn't matter to me, since I don't pay any ecn fees. But I specifically open an account at another firm (my big account is at IB), to be able to route to regionals as well as get a hold of bullets. shneed

IB does not route to regional exchanges

Never tried ARCA with IB, will try it out on Monday. As far as routing to ARCA, I am not routing to them, I routing through them. Sort of like a Smart order on IB, it will route to the best available quote, if it's a regional exchange, that's where the order will route. I think it all depends...

mr_minty You may be right, on the other hand I don't think of Market Makers as a bunch of saints either. This is a zero sum game. The fact is, the reason that ecn's took away so much business from them, is because the were cheating so many people for so many years. entrepreneurial people...

Well, this will open up a can of worms. what will happen to all the market specialists, floor brokers and others. NYSE is much bigger than NASDAQ, and most institutions prefer to trade NYSE vs NASDAQ. The quality of stocks is much better. Somehow I don't see NYSE becoming another NASDAQ with...

    programable software

Hello, Does anyone know of a software company that will built charts based on your own index. For example, let's say I want to trade a basket of stock on a particular sector, but not all of them, only 5. I want to be able to program a chart including these 5 stocks to follow intraday...

    NYSE Auto-Execution Restriction?

The reason I see it, is that they are experimenting with using the old Dot system again on 5 different stocks. They would not be doing it, if they wanted to expand NX. shneed

    NYSE Auto-Execution Restriction?

After reading the article, my conclusion is that NX will be discontinued in the near future. I sincerely hope that I am wrong, but the NYSE is leaning towards it. shneed
