    Is intelligence important for trading?

That's it. However, to go a step further, I think the great traders are the ones who start with the 2K account at IB and trade up to the 25K. Then you can really say you've arrived. Digging in the trenches and paying the dues, that's where the learning process takes place.:D

    Is intelligence important for trading?

There's partial truth to what you just said, however, I think most of it is a crock. I think you can be dumb as dirt and still make a good trader. My education helped me get my money to start trading, but it has not given me an edge on trading. I think the love of the game is what makes a...

    how to solve overtrading?

I can only speak for myself because I do not know your trading plan. However, I think the solution is the same: DO NOT TRADE if it is not a set-up defined in your strategy. Almost every time I have taken a trade that was not a part of my strategy (usually out of boredom) I have ended up with a...

    Tight Stops Nightmare!

When looking at BBA I don't think you should have taken the trade no matter were you put your stop. It is traded too thin (under 1M) and it closed up three days in a row. Also, when looking at the six month chart, I would expect it to retrace back to the 3.5 level.

Falling Down, And Getting Back Up Again.

Lundy, you can do it. With 5K I estimate you could possibly trade yourself up to 25K in approx. 12 to 18 months, averaging about 2% with 3 trades a week. I then figure you could possibly average 4 to 5K a week with 4-1 margin. Figuring a little slippage here and there, you could trade your...

Falling Down, And Getting Back Up Again.

Lundy, I have to ask: didn't you know something was wrong before you got in so deep. I mean, I've lost a bundle, but I knew that I needed to stop and rethink when I was down 25000, (which I did) and it really hit me hard at 50,000 (that's when I stopped and paper trade for about four months...

    suggestion to this elitetrader

Bad idea. If you do this eventually you're going to attract the pumpers and dumpers . I think there's enough of that going on over at YAHOO.

Question to trader who really trade?

jeffgus, that's interesting what you said about TA books. Are you saying that TA is not important?

    William Oneil - CANSLIM

I've read William Oneil's book, and I subscribe to the IBD; but I've never used the CANSLIM method. Not that I'm saying the system doesn't work, but I guess I'm too lazy to search trough all the stocks trying to find the set-ups. I also think the IBD is not as good as it was since they quite...

    Trader's Union

I think Jeffgus has hit on something. I for one would be interested in some kind of group insurance plan.

    Is trading rally risky?

Not quite; it can be a little bit more risky if you're married.:D

    IB your service is terrible

I think IB is great. Since I started trading with them my P/L has gotten alot more positive. At least now I don't have to worry about breaking even on my commissions before I'm profitable. I've been with them since May, and I honestly have not got one complaint. I just wish I had started...

Falling Down, And Getting Back Up Again.

Caught your journal in passing tonight, Lundy. I must say that you've got me thinking about old nightmares. I started in the first part of 2000, felt like I was 10' tall and bullet proof. Everything I traded just seemed to be a winner. I was going around giving stock tips to everybody, why...

Ugh!! Get me out of this bad losing streak

Everybody has losing streaks, and for me that is the perfect time to get your journal and trading log out and start looking for the culprit. Take a few days off (the market will still be here when you come back) and trade with smaller size till you build your confidence level back up.

    Losing Internet Connection

I lost connection 4 or 5 times today. That's the most ever. Maybe it had something to do with the winter storm? Any thoughts on that?

i know this is obvious, but...

No, I'm not a moron, and I'm not a name caller either. I concede that you can have the last word-- as that is something you have no problem in doing-- after all, it is your thread. My side of this discussion is finished.
