Seems liks day trading is all but finished!

Well said rs7. One thing I would add to that is the love of the game . Nobody twists our arms to trade, we choose to be here. The whole concept of the market intrigues me, and that's what keeps me coming back. If you don't love it, chances are you will not survive.

    Throwing in the towel

I think you're doing the right thing; you can always come back later and trade or possibly trade part-time. If you have the opportunity to make more on another job or in a business outside of trading , I think it would be foolish not to do it. I trust, however, that you have something already...

    Are you prepared?

I would only quite if I was prohibited from trading; if you can still trade, I think a good trader can adapt if he looks hard enough. When looking at your question, I would suggest that you could rephrase it to say: If you had to quite trading, do you have an alterative way or plan to make...

What Kinda Chair Do You Trade From - and The Importance of Good Seating

I know this is some what deviating from the main topic of this thread, but I think the main focus here is comfort, which makes me think of a problem I've been having lately: HEADACHES. I really feel it's got something to do with my eyes (I wear glasses)and looking at the screens all day or the...

    New SuperElite membership

Maybe someone has already mentioned this regarding this thread--I'm too lazy to go back and read every post-- but, I think the members who have been here the longest should have some kind of designated status; provided that they continue to post from time to time and do not abuse the board or...

What Kinda Chair Do You Trade From - and The Importance of Good Seating

T, question: I'm 6'2" and I've tried raising my chair to Max. height and it cuts the circulation off in my legs; does that bother you? Just a little below max. works best for me, and I have a common old utility table as a desk-- not fancy but it is long and accommodates all my gear.

What Kinda Chair Do You Trade From - and The Importance of Good Seating

I voted for the comfy arm chair, not because I trade in one, but because I think it would be the most comfortable, and I have thought about getting something like it several times. However, I probably will never get one because it would probably be too comfortable for me. I can just see myself...

GRASSROOTS EFFORT to take on the SEC (esp. read if you are sick of the SEC)

You probably need to go back over to yahoo where you might feel more at home.:D

GRASSROOTS EFFORT to take on the SEC (esp. read if you are sick of the SEC)

sammy, you're the one that appears to be unstable and takes things personally. If not, why did you respond to my first post twice. Why don't you go back and re-read and respond to my last post before this one; it poses an important question to you.

GRASSROOTS EFFORT to take on the SEC (esp. read if you are sick of the SEC)

sammy, you're wrong again. I never said I didn't have the 25K. In fact, I have more than enough to open several 25K accounts. I merely read your post and saw a blatant expression of arrogance and stupidity. My opinion is that freedom of trade should be for everyone-- not just the elite...

GRASSROOTS EFFORT to take on the SEC (esp. read if you are sick of the SEC)

sammy, it's people like you that make the stupid politicians think they're doing the right thing. I think your post is arrogant and at best idiotic. Increasing the PDT rule to 50K will not deter someone from going on a rampage and killing other people, and setting a $ figure on someone's...

    A really simple, difficult question

dbphoenix, you've got the best answer: It's an auction-- precisely; (pure capitalism); and it would be even better if the SEC would keep their hands off it.

Do You Listen To The News While Trading?

I listen to CNBC all day long, and IMHO I think you are an idiot not to in the current geopolitical environment we're in. I got stopped out today (I use mental stops) as I did Friday when bad news came out. It would have been a lot worse if I was not monitoring the news. If you can trade...

Silk, the word hope should not be a part of anyone's strategy. It will eventually bite you.

Win XP Pro - any good?

I'm running XP and from day one I had problems. However, I must mention that I upgraded from millennium-- which has to be the worst ever made; before that I had 98. Anyway, a few weeks back my entire system crashed, and I had to take the tower in for service-- thank goodness it was under...

What will you do when the SEC wrongfully fines you all of your money?

Phantom, since you only started posting here in December, I don't think you've been here long enough to appreciate ET and when it was not inundated with frivolous posts; If that is your forte, you might want to consider going over to Yahoo.
