NihabaAshi, I guess you can say I am a price action trader when trading gaps. I don't have specific entry signals, I'm talking about Stocks, This is the general concept, I guess it is more of an intuitioion trade... Check out pre market action, look for stocks that are moving, 9:30...

Turok, I've been trading Gaps for about a year and change, I've noticed that yes the volatility is ugly the first 15 minutes or so but after that it seems 85% (no statistical study done) of the time a clear direction is has formed. Just an observation.

cheese, why does gap have to be a trap? Isn't that why traders use stop loss, so you don't get traped on the wrong side of the trade? Isn't that the best way to get volatility which something a lot of traders need. ang - who is trying to understand and become a better trader.

I didn't mean to make it sound simple, and its not easy but trust me I did it. The basic point being I'm after extreme moves and the only way to get that trading equity is to go after stocks that are "in play." Usually found in stocks trading 1-10 bucks. You drawdown can be big with 4-8 losers...

I was actually short CECO @ 38 and the thing droped to 33 in about 10 seconds. Covered @ 35 (very fast recovery). So the COCO fiasco actually helped me. Got Lucky :p
