Don't specialists make prices inefficient and a bit more non random? Why would you want floor traders to go away?
I like having 2 equity markets (nasdaq, nyse), at least you have a choice.
Its a pain, you do need to actually read carefully or you will waste a lot of time starting the section over and over again until you get enough question correct. I thought I was going to run out of time because the first few sections took a while but the last few go quick.
Makes sense, prices will trend to and stall where the liquidity is deep but it doesn't explain why the liquidity is where it is, and how this can be determined by a simple formula.
I hear what you are saying and you are correct in that without a study to compare the common pivot point forumlas with random lines to check for statistical signifigance, I can't say for a fact that they have any credibility.
When you plot your lines on the charts the s&p sure enough ralies to or bounces off those Pivots, R1, S1 lines, etc.
What, does everybody use these formulas?
I can relate. I gave up on trying to figure out EFS. Not that its rocket science but you just need to invest a lot of time. Its a shame because it can be such a powerful tool. :(
I hear what you're saying and I hear it often but does anybody really know what the market condition is going to be in the next hour. Sure, you can say on fed action days or on a holiday shortened session the market tends to trade in a tight range but everybody here has seen a quite first hour...
apparently its to fully comply with reg NMS.
I never understood the need for regional exchanges for trading equities.. I guess its a form of competition but I never see PHLX quoting better prices than the NYSE..
Doesn't seem to be working when I enter the Beta critiera. I looked at the Beta field under "key statistics" and they all seem to have N/A next to them. Maybe its just being screwy today..
Did anybody notice Mark Haynes seems to be more cheerful and spunky now that he is at the NYSE? Maybe it has something to do with the energy you feel down on the floor. I've been down there and it definitely gets your blood flowing...
