Is you algo set to calculate on bar close or on every tick? The way I understand it the sim does not work the same way realtime data does. If your algo is not tick dependent try changing to bar close.

Check out TastyWorks. If you do not need all the the bells and whistles that TD provides, that is.

FYI I just checked with Tastyworks. As long as a customer is willing to accept delayed data while with a prop firm they will not charge anything for their feed. For me, that basically means my account with them would be on hold while at a prop shop. I checked with my other broker, eOptions...

Exchange requirements. If you trade other people's money you are identified by the exchanges as a Pro. The data fees are higher for Pro accounts than for non-pro accounts. This will also carry over to your own retail accounts as long as you qualify as pro anywhere.

Better for who? There is no right answer in trading time frames. Please try not to generalize your own preferences on others. It is just not right. Anyone who goes looking for reasons NOT to do something will always find them. I prefer to spend my time looking for things that work for me.

According to Al Brooks and others, price action is good for all timeframes.
