Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

...and even if someone would tell you the how part it would not matter as you need to get there on your own. The main attractive about this thread, I think, is the fact that it pushes you to think differently from the herd, to follow a different path and get somewhere else. The funny thing...

Rich people screwed. Free college ,$500 a week unemployment for the next 9 months .

well, if it really is on the transaction than the only way to make a profit would be by making at least more than 0.5% of the invested capital per trade and have only profitable trades:D

yes, definitely. Well, then, speculators would simply move to derivatives and avoid the tax.

there is something wrong with that statement: the NASDAC alone trade over 250B$ daily on average, add to this the Dow and the S&P plus forex, futures etc and you probably have a few trillions of $ traded daily. the revenue would be in the range of 500B$ a year, in ten years it would be 5...

ftt, where is in place, is about 0.1-0.2% of the gain to round trip trade, so for a trade that makes you 100$ it is at most 20c$ who cares!

What's wrong with the reach people being screwed? Not a communist but when I think that people like Bezos, Musk, Zuckerberg etc. have personal rich similar to GDP of a small country while there are people that needs to work 3 jobs to stay afloat I think that there is something fundamentally...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

I have done a little reading on MES, from what I understand it is kind of 10x leveraged natively. That's the way you can make money with this kind of instrument. Interesting...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

will check the MES thing out, my account is quite small now days (about8K) so I had to use leverage for Forex, will need to see if I can make enough intraday with MES w/o leverage. My usual day with Forex was about 100$-150$ doing 1-3 trades

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

hmmm, I thought about trying to move to MES but I don't know what is the leverage I will have available, need to check. Also, I have been trading forex for many years and I am kind of used to it, while overall once you figure some key things out about trading the transition from forex to...

Oanda is under consideration, though as you say it, if it is set in the UK it may be impacted by Brexit as IB was

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

you did not do the transfer, IB did, it was a forced transfer, and with IB IE there is no leveraged trading for Forex. I hope you trade other instruments, as if you trade Forex, unless you have M$ on your account, you will be in the same position I am in...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Oh, yes, I am sure, I have no alternative, unless I move to other instruments, which I might do, eventually, but I want to do so on my own schedule and not because I cannot trade Forex anymore. Still, I am going to take my time researching brokers before I open a new account. What do you mean...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

so, I will have to leave IB as a broker since due to Brexit they moved the European branch to Ireland and with this move leverage on Forex is not allowed any more. I am looking for a new Broker, possibly specialized on forex, while I do some research I wonder if any of you have some suggestions...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

yes, you got it right, if you imagine the track as line and the "pattern" as the figure composed by two triangles on either side of the track, where one side of the up triangle continue downward to compose a side of the down triangle...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

not exactly: sometimes price moves away from the track, stops, moves back and over to the other side of the track to finally get back in track. best trade, but also hard to get the entry right, is at the first stop, till the stop at the other side. easier trade is after the first stop...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

by the way, I think that it is just the opposite that should be noted in the yellow chart: the areas of consolidation where the color is brighter are way more interesting...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

agree to the first part of your statement, but there little randomness in how price move, there would not be a single chance to make money consistently otherwise.
