Emotional ruts and what to do about them

One good "rule" always wait for the setup, not the buy signal. For example, earlier this week QQQ gave a buy signal, but came back down, resulting in a nice set up for a long entry (in my opinion). I guess this relates to greed and fear - don't be greedy and jump at the first buy signal!

    Canadian Broker

"Questrade may not have the PDT rule but with a minimum round trip commission of $38, how many trades per day do you want to make?" Not sure how much you are paying , but on Island you can trade on CyberTrader for $9.95, unlimited shares. Others routes are .005/share but I don't use them. And...

    Panic Zone Trader

SMH is a great trading stock. Very high beta and it swings at least $1 intra-day. Even better than the QQQ, I think. It is quite chartable on a 5 or 15 min chart. You don't have to fight for pennies, just ride a .10 - .50 move. Day to day swings work well too.

What will be the end result of the elimation of bullets be on pro firms/traders?

There are ways you can simulate (stimulate?) an uptick using ECNs. On the Nasdaq it is techncially called the Bid Rule. The inside Bid must be equal to or higher than the last trade for an uptick situation to occur. Ergo, if you step up, or make the software step up, with an equal bid no matter...

$5,000 entry with training Plus, Plus

Not much better than a CyberTrader retail deal. 1000 shares @ 1 cent = $10 exactly the cost of a CyberTrader trade of up to 5000 shares! Go retail and keep 100% from day one and don't need licences. I agree one can't scalp for pennies on CyberTrader, then again when you are paying $10 for...

    Good Canadian broker??

It depends what platform. I trade an account using Questrade's WebTrader. That is the price I quoted. $17.95 flat for cheap Canadian stocks with NO ecn fees. And I don't pay ECN fees for US stocks. Apples to oranges you are comparing. ;-)

    Bradley Cycle . . .

Bradley is kind of tricky. They say that it does not predict direction only the turn date. So even if the forcast points up it may not move in that direction. It has been accurate in the past so I'd give it a close look.

    Good Canadian broker??

As far as I know yes Questrade will let you short under $5. I called them and if the stock is available to short you can do it. But best to call yourself. Any other Quest users here?
