    BestDayTrader Q&A

Best thing to do it TRY the service for a month and if it doesn't work then try something else! Why would someone spend time trashing something they have never used? I'm suprised how many supposedly pro traders have time to post on this thread and others all day. I noticed they use DAS...

    TASR could be HUGE !!!!!!!!

It's just short covering today, so far. It did gap down in the direction of the trend and on high volume (this usually signals a trend reversal)

    trading CFD's ?

In Canada there is a CFD shop called http://www.shorcanindex.com I think they have prop traders who make a market in the CFds. Sounds interesting.

    Nearing an intermediate top?

Another advantage of QQQ options over OEX options, OEX only trades on the CBOE. QQQ options trade on all options exchanges - AMEX, PHLX, PCX, CBOE, BOX. Seems to me there is less chance to control the market when there are 6 different venues to trade on, and better chance of getting filled.

What does it take to set up a market?

What we need is another Canadian market like an ECN. All Canadian stock trading takes place via the Toronto Stock Exchange. They have a lock on it. If INET was able to get in here they would dominate.

How to swim with the sharks?

I do not really consider Real Estate to be an asset in the short term. Most properties (unless you rent it out) require cash flow to maintain - mortgage, taxes, utilities, upkeep etc. And if a collapse occurs, who will be able to pay you rent? Yet you will still need your own monthly cash...

    Shorting listed via ECN's

If the stock is trading on a downtick your short order would be rejected. I think the order is being posted at the ask (which you can do on a downtick). It could be your trading software doing this, it could be the ECN, I don't know.

    Sucker plays

Just started reading the book: Mentally Tough Online Trader It has Ed Seykota's (who's he?) rules: 1. Cut Losses 2. Ride Winners 3. Keep Bets Small 4. Follow the Rules without question 5. Know when to break the rules To that I would add: recognize that the market moves in pattrens...

    Prop firm in Canada, BC?

Kastro_316 I sent you an inbox. I have some trading buddies in BC who are prop. If you are interested I will give you their email address. Keep in mind with a US firm you must have Series 7. They don't use a US firm.

    Remote Prop Trading in Canada

Interesting Don. I have always read your posts on here with interest. This is in Canada and most prop and retail discount brokers clear using Penson - penson.ca My prop deal was not covered by CIPF (like the SIPC). Got to keep ECN rebates and gave up 10% of upside. Is this good compared to...

    Remote Prop Trading in Canada

I have traded at Questrade.com as prop (although I used my own money). Rates can be below $1. Don't want to post my deal here as it will be removed by forum admin. but check with them. They are in Canada (as am I )

    Questrade Canada

They are a hidden gem. I use CyberX2 and it's great. Trade for 9.95/unlimited shares. As a former daytrader, the CyberTrader platforms are the closest thing to a serious prop platform that I have seen, direct to ECNs, hotkeys, charting etc. Finally here in the Great White North we get a...

How Powerful is your level II

Ironic that CyberTrader is sponsoring this thread but I use CyberX2 and get full ECN books on BRUT, ISLD/INCA (now INET), and ARCA, plus all market makers and can click on the one I want that hit buy or sell. I could not live without it!! Also get streaming Level 2 for all 5 options...

    Spooky IB: TMBR giving fills

GEEZ! I dared to mention this in another thread and the ID rep. def accused me of being an IB basher... I then pointed out that 1 in 6 or more threads on here complain about IB issues, and that the company should do a better job of addressing concerns directly to the customer, not on an...

    No more shaving on Island

"This will kill daytrading" If that is your big advantage, then you aren't a trader. -------------------------- I guess you have not heard of Swifttrade ;-) This is their only strategy

Can i SUE a Brokerage for refusing me because of my citizenship?

There is a national list of "banned" counties where you cannot open accounts for those citizens. I think it would be on the www.ida.ca web site or somewhere similar

    No more shaving on Island

Island has eliminated shaving on stocks over $1 (as of Feb 27th) . see www.island.com Apparently can only shave on some stocks on Brut. This will kill daytrading, or at least the daytrader advantage. Market makers complained too much.

    What brokers offer Free Island?

"Yes, but you also pay $.005 per share on any partial fills executed outside the two minute window. I can't have that. Read the second to last paragraph from the bottom: http://www.cybertrader.com/fees/ecn.asp" ------------------------------- I don't know about Cyber USA, but Questrade...
