Why doesn't Citi buyback its stock in the open market?

I see your point - but they are buying it with the funds that were earmarked to be paid for year-end compensation.. so really it's the employees that are funding by agreeing to receive Citi stock (From the open market) instead of cash... kind of like a mini privatization.. Citi market cap...

Why doesn't Citi buyback its stock in the open market?

because a low share price is shaking the confidence of depositors (both corporates and individuals). so stabilizing the stock price is in the best interest of bond holders as well. this is also reflected in the rating agencies move to include share price as a metric in ratings. and also a...

Why doesn't Citi buyback its stock in the open market?

It can use funds it earmarked for bonuses and use those shares to give for employee compensation. This will serve to stabilize its stock price, put pressure on the short sellers, and prevent dilution from issuing new stock for compensation. Thoughts?

Do any of the retail brokers have Futures Open Interest data?

I am especially interested in the e-mini S&P. Is the for open interest published at end of day or is it updated live throughout the day? If so updated live - any of the brokers have software that will show it? thanks

    Any one trading/watching the S&P e-mini?

i disagree the advice of ignoring.. the bids and offers tell a story of who's doing what.. (even information that a volume turns out to be fake is very helpful) been watching it very closely for hours over the last month.. today's set-up was a perfect example of a good set-up IMHO..

    Any one trading/watching the S&P e-mini?

Somebody sitting on the bid with a huge volume at 812.50. Been hit with over 1500 contracts in the last 30 mins and hasn't budged. Showing 50 bid but looks like it's a bid where true size does not show. Going long at 812.5. With a plan to cxl and reverse if it hits to 812.25.

    SP vs. ES Contract

looking at the big electronic contract (ticker ZSPZ8) - liquidity pretty much matches up the liquidity in the ES in dollar notional. It trades on top of ES contract when bid/offer at round or 1/2 increments, but slippage of 0.05 pt vs. the ES when the bid/offer is at the 0.25 or 0.75 ( which...

    SP vs. ES Contract

Using Open Ecry - the commissions are about 4 times more expensive trading 5 ES vs 1 SP contract (assuming night session commission is based on an electronic schedule - not pit).
