HSI orders not respected. How to deal with it?

I have had horrible problems of a similar nature. Basically, my orders would stop transmitting entirely. I'd click a couple of times to make sure that I didn't screw up and then spend 10 mins tracking down a CS rep. Eventually, (~10 mins later) ALL my orders went through. Every click. This...

    Learn to program with me...

C99, I'm not sure what happened to you, but I hope you're continuing this project. I'm a hobbyist and am just starting to work on a project with this framework. I'd gladly work along side you if you are continuing. Either post here or PM me. Thanks, TNG

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Trading Journal III

I should have been more choosy with my words, I suppose. I don't know if you could call it SCT, but what I was doing is using an "always in" methodology with it. Like I said, it worked fairly well, but I need to regroup and perfect it a bit before I continue. I have always felt that price...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Trading Journal III

That's kind of funny, actually. I was using SCT on AAPL for two or three weeks a while back. I had mediocre success, but it looked pretty good for the long term. I wasn't expecting to make a whole lot of money on it in my first two weeks, but it definately was net positive. The problem I was...

    Remain calm...

Just out of curiosity, how do you know he's "throughly trained to always buy"? He's been saying "buy, buy, buy" in a raging bull market. What's wrong with that? TNG

Can anyone help me with this

    IB site down (not TWS)

Not always... They could have multiple web servers and only one is having problems. They probably have multiple routers, switches, etc.... I don't think it's an ISP issue because here we use two, and either is the same, and at home I use a totally different one and it was the same as well...

    IB site down (not TWS)

I had problems this morning and last night, and I'm in Chicago. It's a problem at their end (IMHO) and they don't know where yet. TNG

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Trading Journal III

Hey Mike, Thanks for taking the time to do that. FWIW I draw the channels for the stocks I'm trading, but that was one where I saw an R2R in the middle of a down channel and thought maybe there is some signifigance to it. Upon reviewing Spyder's last document along with your last post it...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Trading Journal III

Thank you both for taking the time to answer. I can't remember what stock it was that I saw it in this morning, but here is another example. Is this gaussian "meaningless" or do I not understand what an R2R is? Thanks, TNG

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Trading Journal III

Spyder or anyone who has SCT experience... I have two questions that I haven't been able to find a definative answer for. First, does the color of the bar of the FTT matter at all? And secondly, does a gaussian formation in the same direction as the trend have any signifigance? I was...

Why was the "Objections to SCT" thread closed?

He's just a guy suggesting a trading method, and along with that comes what he believes are prudent rules to follow. 50 is what he believes is a prudent number to stop at. If I find it to be different, then I'm going to trade differently. For I know he could have decided that number at a time...

Why was the "Objections to SCT" thread closed?

Now I'm really confused, am I supposed to address this or not? You've told me twice now and chastized me for not being able to read correctly, but you respond to my post and imply that I'm supposed to show you where he talks about maxing out at 50 contracts. At any rate, in the post above I...

Why was the "Objections to SCT" thread closed?

These are valid questions, for sure. I have also assumed (you'll notice when reading Jack's stuff there are different ways of interpreting it sometimes) that he feels 50 is the prudent level to max out at. I would guess that slippage and money management are two of the biggest concerns. At...

Why was the "Objections to SCT" thread closed?

OK fair enough. I've always taken his statements to say that %4-%7 is possible to achieve on a semi regular basis. To me, that is not unreasonable. Even considering liquidity issues (which Jack says is at about 50 contracts) it wouldn't take long to amass a fortune. So at about $30-$40...

Why was the "Objections to SCT" thread closed?

I'm sorry to have put words in your mouth. I was merely making a conclusion based on what you said. The reaon why I brought that up is because as I understand the hedge fund world, managers are often paid a very, very good rate of return on mediocre performance. It's obviously hard to make...

Why was the "Objections to SCT" thread closed?

Sure no harm done at all. Thank you for appologizing. I should have clarified. I absolutely do not know anyone who has a higher net worth than PTJ or BK. From what I read in the Market Wizards book, however, only Ed Seykota comes close in terms of % return or sharpe's. If you judge how...
