Unfortunately IBKR US won`t open accounts anymore for Europeans, but only at their UK firm. Other brokers (like Tos) don`t accept european accounts also. Last not least I know of not one US broker allowing trading of options on non-us futures. Regards

That sounds like the dutch system: They assume you earn an of 4% on your account and ask for a tax of 30% on these. So your actual taxation is 1.2% . Kind Regards

Hi all, living in europe (so a non resident alien) I am still looking for a U.S. brokerage to backup / complement my IB activities. Struggled to find a brokerage that offers trading on U.S. exchanges AND Eurex - many offered on their website, none really could do it. Trading mainly index futures...

Those thousands of EAs are for MT4 only (MT-FOUR!!!) and won`t work with MT5. That`s the reason why few only MT4 users (and EA creators) switch to MT5!!!! Regards p.s. If anybody claims AMIBROKER to be the king --- name him a spammer!! We prefer to keep AB as the industry`s best kept secret.

I love the ongoing IB and Amibroker bashing. Always an entertaining read. Just for the records: Amibroker api software module to connect to IB is marked BETA, but not because of the software being beta status, but because of .... well read for yourself...

Where did you get the idea that the API will cost you $ 600 p.m. ? With your volume you should be completely free, even with only 100 trades a day -less than half a minilot per trade should suffice. Regards Hittfeld

If you are a german tax subject (and received thaaaat number) you will be liable to german taxes - unless taxed otherwhere. The "perpetual traveller construction" doesn`t work anymore. ANd if you are switching residence all the time, you are considered to be just that - travelling. The "Steufa"...

You can`t open an account anywhere without showing your passport. Once a bank/broker will see your US-passports they either will refuse to open an account for you (try to open an CFD-trading account!!!), or you will be classed as an "notify the irs - account", no joking, even in switzerland...
