I was long US stocks since March 2009, now I am buying stock index put options....

The joke of 'growth' should not be underestimated-there is no growth it does not begin to compensate for the debt growth. Main street gets raped by Wall street as the banksters spend billions lobbying the idiot Republicans

explain how to make profits in option market

Pity the greed machine is killing wages for main street. I make money trading UK options so I don't mind what the market manipulators do,when I'm wrong, I adjust, but when I see 40 years of pension contributions amount to peanuts(not my money) it gets me miffed.

explain how to make profits in option market

I once asked a fund manager from a very very large UK fund who was stupid enough to buy at the top of the market and he told me that's what they do- just sayin' -pension funds are rubbish and massively underperform - the whole industry is a joke, totally reliant on dumb new money coming in as a...

explain how to make profits in option market

Gathering intelligence here:? that's be a short task! Actually buying at the top is precisely what fund managers are instructed to do-which is why Wall St rips off Joe public

explain how to make profits in option market

I'm profitable I don't trade a 'system' but have a systematic approach,as all systems fail eventually. Options give us the flexibility to be neutral and make money

    A New Trader Documentary

Anyone interested in trading here -or just sniping at each other? No other business has so much BS. The big money makers are bent as a nine bob note and without insider trading none of the City spivs would have a job. We have a tough time but it's possible to make good profits-happy to...

    Calendar backspread

for a calendar to be optimised you run to expiry whereupon th front month goes out for zero-or you find yourself unpleasantly deep ITM nursing a loss-most people panic in expiry week- me included from time to time

    Calendar backspread

what a shame people here choose to lose by ignorance of all the risks- after 15 years of profitable trading I'm enough of trying to help people see the picture. Calendar backspread

Wake up people -so you'd close out before expiry-and let's say your front month short is trading at 80% vol, andf your longs at 40%? -do the maths-you have to understand that one month bears no relation to the next, and if it's a stock, you could get the stock put to you yadda yadda- use...

    Calendar backspread

Vega is morew fickle than you think, thjat's all and you need to know that the front month can get weird, and PIN risk is also an unknown, and if it's exercised early you can really get cleaned up-seen it happen a few times-just saying if life was as simple as relative thesta we'd all be betting...

About a quarter of the way through the book "Options, Volatility, and Pricing" by Sheldon Natenburg

Never trade without knowing your Greeks- they all tell you what you need to know, and after a while you can just 'see' prices and know almost instinctively when they look wrong-as I did recently with index options near the money trading at 10% vol- a trade I bought for 5 and sold for 16...and...

    Calendar backspread

it's not a back spread it's a ratio spread- very risky, and adjustment-you can convert your longs into spreads and use the premium to adjust the Oct short call if it goes ITM. Good luck-I've been hammered by calendars

Option Price Calculation Software, What's the best?

You cannot calculate a price, only the Greeks and volatility- the price is the bid/offer,you cannot change that, it's a market and demand drives it. I trade, then do the calcs, knowing that a rule of thumb is good enough for trade entry
