EDITED to add final trade at 3:45
Decent start turned ugly. I actually got off easy for how bad I traded. Hot key mistake doubled down instead of stopping out on a short. Held the whole lot for a gain, but it was luck, not skill. Kept trying to play PSFT breakout and stopped out 4 times...
Decent start turned ugly. I actually got off easy for how bad I traded. Hot key mistake doubled down instead of stopping out on a short. Held the whole lot for a gain, but it was luck, not skill. Kept trying to play PSFT breakout and stopped out 3 times. It finally went for about .75 after...
I decided to trade mornings only for the next two weeks. I will finish by 12:00EST at the latest, usually earlier. I'm going to post my results in this thread, pretty much just to be accountable to something and help me stick to it. My max loss for any one day is $300 before commissions. I...
Don,
I am only trading Nasdaq right now. I have tried to find a group of stocks which react well to the futures, with a few in each sector to trade depending on what group is moving that day. They still have their own personalities, but I doubt they are as consistent as listed stocks and...
I very seldom reverse a postion. I trade off 1 & 3 minutes charts, but on setups off of 13 minute charts. There really shouldn't be a time when a good short changes to a good long on a 13 minute chart instantly, unless it's a failed breakout/down. I'm afraid my emotions got the best of me on...
I had jumped in the shower and was getting ready to go to breakfast (10:00 AM Arizona time). I came in and just saw the move on the charts. Cnbc, I'm guessing, had already ran the original story. I had already made my bad trades before I actually saw any news. I should have looked first...
Okay, I'm convinced.
I pretty much knew this was what I was going to do, I just needed a second opinion. For the rest of the month I quit trading at 11:00 if I am up more than $200. No deadzone trading no matter what. I'd like to put in a maximum daily loss as well, or the max number of bad...
Woody--
My losses are usually reasonable on a per trade basis, I seldom lose more than .20 or .25 on any trade unless I miss getting filled and chase it with the rest of the sheep. But when I get down for the day I really start to overtrade. When I am up, I have great patience. When I am...
I'm looking for a few opinions on this.
I'm new to trading (just into month 5). I had my first positive month in February (barely). I have upped my shares this month, and I'm having mixed results. I usually have a good morning, until about 10:30-11:00, then often give it all back with high...
Yannis-
most of the information is in this thread by Don Bright:http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3334
It's a long thread, but the info is in there somewhere!
I'm just looking into this this strategy since IB started allowing MOO and LOO orders.
Martha-
The confusion came from someone talking about Bob Meany two posts above yours. When you said "him" it seemed like you could have meant Bob Meany, not a website (Greentradertax). Thanks for clearing it up. I'll probably go with Green.

I'm starting this thread because I inadvertently started a discussion on this in Hitman's journal. I would like to continue the discussion, though. Is anyone using it with something like Don Bright's open only trades? Anything automated or are you doing manual entry for all the orders?
Nitro,
I think IB now does OO orders.

I haven't tried them yet, but would like to start. Are you using Excel to to what you have so far? If you are, any chance I could see a copy?

How many of us would pay to use this site and not put Baron in the place of being loyal to advertisers? What would it take, Baron? If we kept 1000 quality members (out of 9790) @ $10 or so a month? TraderX should be good for $200, all by himselves. I have to say, though, I would want Def...
I love my matrox G400MAX / G450 PCI combo on WinNT, but hated that I couldn't get the G450 in a 32MB card so I could run 1200x1600 on all my monitors. They finally released one. Even has DVI output.
They're also releasing a quad G450 PCI in 2nd quarter. You could run 4 of them for 16...
One more question:
I would rather use somebody I could see in person. Does anyone know of a trader-friendly tax professional in Phoenix, Arizona?
Thanks again,
Johnny
