    Can you be objective?

From the beginning of April until sometime in May i was a permabear and blew out a decent chunk of my account. It's still something of a fight for me. Like when we closed above 1050 on the SP 500 a week or so ago i had to absolutely FORCE myself to go long again since that had been my plan...

Finally, leveraged ETFs are preferable to margin, for long term?

Just keep in mind if you take the reverse splits into account the high for Faz the past year is 2,018.50 last November and it's at 20.69 now, and the high for Fas was 293.55 and it's at 84.75 now and the Rifin is actually higher now than it was at that point November of last year. So it...

What are the advantages of day-trading stocks over futrues?

Hey it makes sense to me. You rarely ever hear them mentioned or advertised other than that sketchy Superfund commercial, most of your popular investment info sites like www.investopedia.com have very little info on them compared to options or forex, and they seem to have by far the best tax...

    grain spreaders

Hmm I've mainly just looked at index futures and options but this certainly looks like an interesting thread just skimming the 1st few pages. I saw this site was recommended... http://www.mrci.com/ Is there any other sites you guys would suggest i take a look at?

What are the advantages of day-trading stocks over futrues?

well just think about the YM, which is the mini-dow, for each point on each contract you make $5 so with 10 contracts and a +100 day you'd make $5,000 Theoretically if you had $500 per contract daytrading minimums you could do that with only $5,000 in your account so that's really some crazy...

    Ninjatrader novice

ok after adding more and more stuff I finally figured out that simple may just be better....at least considering the past 2 months where we were basically moving straight up. On the demo my data only goes back to July. I wish we could have an at least halfway decent pullback to see how the...

Ron Paul (one GIANT toxic asset)

Just looking at that title I thought i was going to have to come in here and defend my main man Paul. I'm not going to say I completely agree with him 100% on all issues but at the moment he's the only politician i even remotely trust. He says what he believes and backs it up with facts...

    The S&P will see 1000 before 1100

I viewed 1045 as the major overhead resistance coming up so i wouldn't be surprised at all to see us get to 1,100 or 1,120 pretty quickly. Quantitative easing running out of money is what has me curious on how much higher we could actually go. I'm sure CONgress will just reup them with a...

What are the advantages of day-trading stocks over futrues?

Yeah personally i think they keep the info on futures so limited because they don't want a rush of people to go in and then they have to change the tax laws on them. The biggest advantage ends up being the 60%, 40% split on your taxes even if you day trade 'em 60% is still considered long...

Finally, leveraged ETFs are preferable to margin, for long term?

well really the main problem with holding the 3x ETFs is that the people who are actually crazy enough to try to hold them for an extended amount of time are the same ones who try to pick tops and bottoms so it works as a net negative. not saying decay isn't a huge huge drawback it is...

Finally, leveraged ETFs are preferable to margin, for long term?

they did a 5 to 1 reverse split just a little while back they both got to around 7 or 8 bucks if I'm not mistaken

A really interesting long-term chart that contextualizes this market rally

We are due for a fairly large delevering across the board and the longer that's pushed off the harder and farther down that'll push us. So it's kind of a give and take....do we go ahead and do it now where i think we could basically stay intact thru the entire long, painful process or do we...

Confessions of a loser who need to quit

Actually I think we're talking about the same thing when you say selling a vertical. I am trying to catch time decay. Unless they get stopped out by a really really big move in a single week they'll expire worthless and I'll just cash in whatever the difference was between the option I sold...
