Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

I'd say that is as definitive as you can get. Even now, at 3:15 you've got all the sell side executions for MITT. That's one low volume puppy.

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

I was surprised I was able to borrow MAMA. I couldn't at Ameritrade. I suppose I was just lucky and made my request when they had some to lend. The borrow amounts can change from minute to minute.

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Yes, there were trades at 8, but no single executions of 4000 shares at 8 between 9:30:00 and 9:30:03 when my trade executed, so the opening cross is the only print that my execution could apply to. In fact there are no executions at 8 in quantities greater than 4000 in the first 13 seconds...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

The Nasdaq integration of the NASDAQ Market Center, Brut and INET into a single platform for NASDAQ-listed securities was effective 10/30/06. I think there is no longer any difference between Island, Supersoes, and Brut however IB labels them in TWS, except perhaps that they might be using...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

I sold 4000 mama limit 7.62 filled in one execution at 8.00 at 9:30:03. This looks like it participated in the opening cross. There are no other trades at that quantity and price in the two T&S logs available to me.

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Well this isn't the first time I've been told it was working when it wasn't. When I've experienced a failure first hand I'll bring it to my marketing rep who has been pushing the change for me.

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Can you give a specific example - stock, limit price, quantity, and fill? According to an email I have from the developer who implemented the change, Island is now equivalent to Supersoes.

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Those are the settings I use and the way I believe it works. I haven't had enough real experience to confirm that it actually works this way.

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

The change was implemented effective 12/13/06. I placed two RTH limit orders at 9:10 am under Smart and they were immediately routed to Island. I was expecting to see a routing to Supersoes so I was concerned that they were active in the pre-open trading, but my sales rep confirmed with the...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

In an email dated 11/14 my sales rep said 'IB tech department says the below change should take place "mid next week"'. Since that was Thanksgiving week I'd say the change should have been done, but since I've been dealing with a meltdown of my primary system I haven't checked it out. I...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

My sales rep tested it this morning with a few orders and confirmed that it does not work. He talked to one of their programmers and "he said that he would have to make a couple of changes to IB's exchange connection configuration. He said it would take a few days...". So IB is working on...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

flbum - can you post details of the order? My sales rep, who has been addressing this for me, just told me that Nasdaq Regular hours limit orders that will participate in the opening cross should be working using SMART routing. This assumes that the stock has been implemented in their systems...

Looking for a Solid Data Feed Vendor

I’m looking for a new data feed vendor. Currently I use Market Track. Their uptime is excellent. They go down for a few minutes perhaps twice a year which is acceptable. My primary complaint is they are losing data when the stock markets first open. It is important to me to get the...

trade at the opening price on amex ETF

I don't trade etfs much, but so far I've found for IB that routing SMART + MOO gets executed on the opening cross of the primary exchange. The primary exchange is not AMEX for all ETFs.

Hybrid Phase III dress rehearsal on Sept. 30

CNBC reported 97% of AXP was electronic on 10/6 and that the specialists were scared. My data source shows 96% electronic if you include open & close, so I believe the 97%. It's looking more likely the NYSE will follow the same route as the LSE when they went fully dual mode, electronic...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Good news. My sales rep tells me that when Nasdaq implements the integration of Brut, SuperSoes, etc that "you will be able to send non-marketable SMART limit orders pre-9:28 on NASDAQ stocks that will participate in the opening auction and if they don't get executed there, they will remain...

IB SMART routing not so Smart

Fair enough. I was trying to provoke a response and I succeeded. You'll notice I promptly posted a reply laying the blame on the Amex. The shuffling between NYSE and Third Markets... Cuts your volume by about 10-20% relative to direct routing to the NYSE... I appreciate the stats you...

IB SMART routing not so Smart

I received a response from IB. They said that the orders were routed to AMEX and that AMEX was not updating the bid to reflect my order. On one hand that's comforting because it means it wasn't an IB screw up. OTOH, it's disturbing because it means whoever was handling BTJ for the AMEX...

IB SMART routing not so Smart

I am new to IB. I had the following disturbing experience that has raised serious doubts about IB’s SMART routing. I had the following orders entered at IB routed SMART prior to market open on 9/15/06: Buy 400 BTJ limit 15.35 Buy 500 BTJ limit 15.34 Buy 500 BTJ limit 15.33 Buy 500...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

The integrated system is going to work the same. I am pressing this issue with my sales rep. Since it is natively supported by the exchange I cannot understand why IB would not support it, preferably under their Smart routing. An excerpt from their integration proposal to the SEC...
