Can a big firm short stocks, futures or options? I don't think it's a law, but since a short sale is borrowing a security and selling, then buying it back? IF so who does the big firm borrow the security from? I mean big firms like Merill, JP Morgan, and so on.

I wouldn't say it's bye-bye, at most she may get a few of months in jail and a fine, and not some hard nose prison either. The money involved in the stock sale wasn't millions of dollars, so she won't get that much.

i had a freeze in Globex twice today, then after about 3-5minutes it started working. Everything is fine now.
