Street Insights Jaye Shartis Paraphrasing"FED was the One who JUMPED the Markets"

rofl just a note, "program" trading is usually in reference to index arbs. not to just blind buying (or selling) of stock

Trouble getting filled on nyse stocks

Well, most arbs will be working blocks bigger than 1,099 shares so NX is not an option. As a result, I don't see the use of a limit order (even .25 cents or whatever into the market) helping the fill. I have tried doing both this and market orders and have come to like markets better due to...

The treacherous path to $200k a year

What do you mean by "statistics"? If you're refering to using the past in an attempt to predict the future - it can't be done. Deep pockets? When you see size, it's one of three things (or a combination): an arb, a hedge or a mistake :p

The treacherous path to $200k a year

You don't have an edge. To be profitable, you need an edge :) To be honest, you kind of remind me of myself when I first started - which was only 3 years ago

try playing with eurodollar spreads, although it seems kind of silly to be worried about carrying calendar spreads overnight

LoL, brokerboy, just because you and your trainees are failures doesn't mean everyone else is. You'd be surprised what kind of people occasionally read ET or even post here. What if I told you I'm sitting across from a guy who made 30k+ today trading stock (this is an above average day) this...

BIDU - ipo day trading stories

I started trading it right before that first big dive from 150 to 120. I bought 149.80, 140, 130, 125. Yep, I don't know what i was thinking, made money on it though. edit: just looked at my fills, I actually started buying it before that, around 145, and had some sales at 151

    Trader P/L 2005

LOL, no. My fees are so low because it's basically all SEC (very little ECN/NASD trading). My comms are high for the volume but I get a lot of things in return that other firms dont even consider offering.

    Trader P/L 2005

I'm even worse, haha. Last month commission was 50.5% of gross, and all fees were 57% (I dont trade much nasdaq)

Can scaling/averaging down be a viable trading system?

lol this thread is so silly. macro, you're wrong, i got tired of reading your posts because of how ridiculous you sound. the market does not understand COVER SHORT, LONG, COVER LONG, SHORT orders, there are only BUY and SELL. Whatever advantage you think you gain from "letting shorts run" or...
