Can you have a cash secured put AND a covered call on the same stock at the same time?

You have a stock at $2.35 which you got from a $2.50 put that was assigned. Next period, you sell another $2.50 put for $0.20 AND you sell a $3.00 call for $0.10. Now if price closes under $2.50 you buy 100 more shares. And if price closes above $3.00 you sell your shares. If price closes...

Can you have a cash secured put AND a covered call on the same stock at the same time?

TOS shows bewildering numbers when I model this. Say you cash secured put and get the stock. Next options period, you want to a) sell another cash secured put and b) sell a covered call on the shares you already own. So this is like a cash straddle. Is this allowable? So if price goes down...

why are there so many options that are terrible deal?

I'm seeing a lot of things that are like, the stock is $2.55, and a $3.00 put option is $0.40, so you're losing money buy writing it. You could buy the stock for cheaper on the regular market. If you sell the put, you make $40. And then if the stock is put to you, you will pay $2.60. But if...

So I've been researching options for a few weeks Questions: round 2

Now I've been learning about things like theta, verticals, and weird things like back spreads. Here's my question: How do you decide what to do? Like, do you just say, I think price is going to be between here and here on this day, so therefore I'm going to execute such this strategy? Or...

Do I have the jist of the wheel strategy?

Yeah right cuz a 18 call for 3 gives you a total price of 15. I calculated that wrong when I wrote that. I was thinking 20 stock and 3 dollar option gives you an overall full of 17.
