Are settlement rules different for daytraders?

And on that note, doesn't day trading give you 4:1 margin? So if it takes $25k to open a day trading account, how could anyone trade with less than $100k? Second question: If you have $25k in your day trading account and you lose money on your first trade and it drops down to $24,500, do...

Help with exit points for swing trading (pic)

Well, it took a month, but who saw N today? :D Is a month considered a "long" time for a swing trade? I don't know. I'm just happy I didn't lose money. That's the spirit, right? Oh, I put in a trailing stop. I'll risk a % or two in order to possibly ride a winner. Too...

Help with exit points for swing trading (pic)

Thanks. That sounds like a good idea, actually. However, I don't think right now I can take partial profits because, as I said, I'm a newbie and I don't have that much capital to begin with so much of my partial profits would be eaten up by comission. Maybe I should trade bigger positions...

Help with exit points for swing trading (pic)

Hi, I'm a noob to trading. I've seen a lot of talk of entry and exit points, but I feel like sometimes people are arbitrarily picking their exit points just to make the reward/risk profile look good. Take the chart I've attached for Inco Ltd (symbol: N). I entered @ $42.23 as the MACD was...
