The NO. 1 Secret Of Success In Trading

No one is immune to blowing up, no matter how long you’ve been trading or how good your track record is. If anybody had forgotten this, the action over this last month has shown us that. The thing is to have a risk management plan that won’t let you blow up, so you can live to trade another day...

The NO. 1 Secret Of Success In Trading

Believing something and actually achieving it are two different things. Older and wiser beats younger and dumber in trading every time! I think this is the point of the OP. Good Luck to you.

"Price TA" Traders Dream Market Come True...

You aren’t taking the setup. Don’t kid yourself. You are waiting for the setup to work, getting in late and taking on unneeded risk.

    Thinkorswim - Price Performace

This should be a simple script. You can’t do it? I meant to say “Compare” in the earlier post. The Open price change will always be from the previous close.

"Price TA" Traders Dream Market Come True...

This option ain’t so great. You never know when the buyers will stop buying or the sellers will stop selling. If you are waiting for the bounce, you are probably getting in too late.

Video , why do indicator based systems fail.

I watched the video and took a look at your website. Here is my favorite part: “ONE OF THE LIMITATIONS OF HYPOTHETICAL PERFORMANCE RESULTS IS THAT THEY ARE GENERALLY PREPARED WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT. IN ADDITION, HYPOTHETICAL TRADING DOES NOT INVOLVE FINANCIAL RISK, AND NO HYPOTHETICAL...

Just buy dips on high volume

Understanding your strategy within the context of the daily swings might be helpful. You might want to check out the Taylor Trading Technique: In that context, Tuesday was a Short-Sell day. The market had traded two days from low to high. On the Short/Sell day you are supposed to short the...

We need big losses from time to time, to rethink the strategy and improve it?

To each his own, but I prefer to only be in one day trade at a time. Have you ever had two or three girlfriends at the same time? What a hassle!

We need big losses from time to time, to rethink the strategy and improve it?

You haven’t actually explained how much you are risking per trade. What percent of your account is your stop loss? How many day trades do you put on at a time?

That’s right. I joined ET two days before you...what a trip! I was active on Silicon Investor before that. We’re you over there? Your name is familiar. A lot has changed on ET, but a lot is still the same. I like the IB hot keys too, although I still think TWS is the weirdest software out...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Why don’t you take advantage of your insight and make some money from it? Sounds to me like you should be buying the close every Friday and selling the open on Sunday. If you can’t act on your call, does it really mean anything? I am not trying to be mean here, this is a serious question.

Fast market Lesson: Stops can get rejected

Sure. It sounds like you have a plan, so that is good. Here are a couple things maybe you haven't thought about: Use volatility based stops and profit targets. On a day where the market makes a 240 point swing, do you really want to be shooting for an average profit of a measly 1.25 points...

Haha...this thread is funny, I didn’t know there were other freeloaders like me using them for free! I opened my TOS account years ago before they were acquired by Ameritrade. Then after multiple meltdowns in fast market conditions, I gave up. It’s not really a pro platform. However, all the...

Fast market Lesson: Stops can get rejected

This is a crazy strategy. I just saw your limit order. Any trading strategy needs to be aligned with the volatility of the financial instrument. Your strategy attempts to avoid risk, which will never work. There is no reward without risk. You must embrace risk, then go from there

Fast market Lesson: Stops can get rejected

Your stop is too tight, even for calm markets. You would have to time the market perfectly on every trade. What do you think the chances are of that happening? Probably not much more than .0077%. Which is the size of your stop compared to the price of the NQ.
