Tell me what you would do..

Many folks develop a romantic idea of what trading's going to be like. It's hard grueling work, constantly challenging your psyche and discipline. My recommendation is to swing trade only (since you have a job and have less than PDT rules require to intraday trade). In my opinion, financial...

Success Trading Group - Anyone ever heard of?

Thanks guys for the insight. I figured it was a fraud of some sort, but couldn't envision how it might work. I did e-mail them a few days ago to give me a historical link for their posted trades, haven't heard back from them - I'll post here if I hear back. Swish

When should I increase my "size"?

broker that allows multiple stop orders

I use Cybertrader and it's pretty flexible on alerts - can set them up in bunches of different ways and can have multiple close alerts for the same stock at the same time. Also, alerts used to not remain active when logged off - but that was "fixed" in last release. You can now specify if...

Success Trading Group - Anyone ever heard of?

Rec'd an email a few days ago from this guy (portion posted below) - sounds pretty fishy! He claims a whole year without a loss which I find just about impossible to believe. Anyway I was surprised to not find any references to "Success Trading Group" or "Anthony Myers" in searches of ET...

When should I increase my "size"?

I don't think he did - my impression he's not a stellar trader... But as a money management theorist, I think he's pretty top notch!!! :)

When should I increase my "size"?

Two great books on position sizing: Van Tharpe etal: Financial Freedom Through Electronic Daytrading Jones: The Trading Game I'd look at position sizing based on $ risked rather than fixed share size. When I made the transisition, it took a lot of the stress off because I stopped...

    TCnet

Overall, I like it. Here's what you can do with it: 1. Realtime sorts on a few (very limited) criteria 2. Multiple charts open at same time 3. slideshow works on realtime charts. 4. Datafeed seems to be pretty accurate / reliable. Here's what I don't like about it: 1. No pcfs...

    order fills

Why not switch brokers? I split the spread often on Cyber and get filled most of the time. I see my bids / asks post to L2 and if an order doesn't get filled, it's not because of broker manipulation or failure to perform. Your broker's performance seems kinda fishy if you ask me.....

    not exiting losers on stops

Only a fool trades without stops because risk is part of the plan of a trade - without an exit plan, there can be no risk management (unless offsetting puts or some other form of risk mgmt is used). That said, I myself have gone from a belief in tight stops w/ limited loss to more of a...

Trading while trying to lose weight on Atkins

I used to drink 2-3 cokes / day. When stressed, I couldn't sleep at night and would have to drink even more coke. On a vacation in 2001, it took 3-4 days for my body to relax and "stop the buzz!"... I got so irritated at myself, I quit cold turkey (no caff drinks - coke, tea, etc) the first...

    CTPro 4.0 Alert Files

I use excel and MS notepad to generate alert files for Cybertrader pro. I recently downloaded the new version (4.0) and discovered the text strings required for alerts have become significantly more complex and cryptic. Has anyone broken down the 5 number codes in the strings into what they...

Thanks for the comments guys - those that were intended to be helpful and those that probably weren't!! :p What I'm really looking for is a service that will just Email me when a split is announced - w/out commentary or strategy attached...... And I did search Google and didn't find...

Does anyone know of a service that sends out notifications of Stock-split announcements? You'd think it'd be easy to find, but I have not been able to find one! :) Thanks ahead of time!! Swish

Carry both long and short position over night

I totally disagree w/ the last post and do not think this is a worthless thread!! Traders think in terms of strategies. These strategies can have different time frames and traders want to stick to the rules of each strategy. Thus, suppose in a long swing trade a trader has accumulated a...

Carry both long and short position over night

So IB will let you have a long position and short position simultaneously in the same equity?? Cyber will not - and have explained it's against SEC regs. Thanks, Swish
