    IB Commissions

When the SEC fees increased, did IB just take the hit without increasing their commissions?

    IB Commissions

If I remember correctly, ECN fees are included in IB's commission rate. Are SEC fees included or are they tacked on? Thanks, Swish

    Chart loading

I track many stocks intraday and find it often difficult to quickly assess where all stocks on a watchlist are when the market is reversing. Are there any charting packages out there that will load a watchlist (say 15-20 stocks) into a watchpage of intraday charts. In other words, a layout...

Is "Buy bid, sell ask" practical?

I've traded nas stocks for a long time, but really only started trading listed stocks recently. I've heard that small limit orders are a nuisance to specialists and they will often fill a limit order a few cents outside the market just to avoid "messing with it". If this is the case, why...

    Cyber vs Realtick

Cyber's data fees are waved if you trade > 50 trades / month. Don't you have to pay a data fee for RT usage? Might or might not be waived depending on why your RT broker is - right? I haven't used realtick, but most of the guys in a trading room I was recently part of did and they had...

    brokers that offer trailing stop?

Cybertrader has trailing alerts and can be based on bid, ask, or trade price. In order not to get jerked out of a trade by a bad tick, I always use bid and trade price for long stops and ask and trade price for short stops.

    Wizetrade

Is this the one that uses several "proprietary" formulas to flash green and red signals in different time frames?? if it is, do a search on this site for wizetrade - well covered. bottom line, no black box systems work - trading is more complicated than that! Swish

    Should I stay or go?

Stick with it as long as you can if you love it. and you can support yourself and you are not putting so much of your net worth at risk that you're not going to be able to recover if you do eventually quit What about working part time to support yourself........ On the other...

    Cybertrader 500k accounts

I'm not trying to get anybody to switch to Cyber - but commission diffs are enough to get me to switch away from Cyber. Cyber has lots of other tools which I find helpful and I sometimes do call customer service - thus I put some value on service.... My fill experience w/ Cyber is pretty...

    Cybertrader 500k accounts

I'll switch if I can be convinced there's a better overall platform at a better value. I'm always looking for a better deal!! :D :D :D

    Cybertrader 500k accounts

Except for commissions and other pass through costs, I think Cyber is pretty stellar. Customer service is great - (has gotten much better over the past 2 years). They now have persistent alerts which reside on their servers. They have some built in scanning ability. Futs are now offered (may...

    QQQs vs Futures

Momento, Profits "easier" because NQ is more volatile? If so, I suppose that means it's easier to get whipped out of a trade on a stop?

    QQQs vs Futures

I've never traded futures, but am starting to trade the QQQs and SPY fairly frequently. When trading ETFs is compared to trading futures, are there any other advantages to trading futures besides greater leverage?? Thanks, Swish

What's a cost efficient way to PROVE your track record to eventually start hedge fund

I have a very good friend who historically has been a stellar trader. He has managed other folks money in a LP for about 6 years with a pretty impressive month to month track record. Earlier this year, he had a string of losses that resulted in several problems: 1. Everybody wanted their...

    Turtle Trading

I read with interest a fairly detailed article about the turtle traders in the 1980's and their strategy of attempting to catch big trend moves in different markets. Initial stops would be 2x an exponential average of ATR. It seems to me their approach to the market was to suffer through...
