The desk fee/software charges can be anywhere from $100-$400 a month. The total software charge depends on what data you need. For example, I don't get AMEX or futures quotes so my fee is a bit cheaper. I don't get news either. You do get $100 rebate for every 100,000shares traded in a month...

Sterling has a scanner? As far as the latency, other people have said that speed issues sometimes depend on other factors. I didn't notice any problems the last few days.

I pay $305 at Echo. That gets me order entry, charts, and all quotes except futures and AMEX. For every 100,000 shares traded in a month a $100 software rebate is given.
