The S&P is looking very toppy

waggie, you have made your point numerous times. Please try not to bait people so much. It brings threads into non-productive places. Thanks.

Logging into IB on public PCs

update: I traded most of the day today. I was connected through my Verizon cell phone and laptop. I used TWS with between 15-20 symbols ticking and also continuously retrieved quotes and minute bars through the MyTrack SDK for over 70 symbols. The connection rate says 230.4Kbps. I am...

One clarification question -- when are the nine years? Is it a current streak?

    The S&P looks very toppy

I have to admit that I was laughing out loud when I read it the other day in the feedback forum. All who want to see it can read it there. Post a link to it if you want.

    Laptop/notebook PC recommendations anyone?

Good point. I've been watching the price of this thing for almost six months now for fun and if anything, it has been going up. They seem to be increasing their profit margins.

Market Profilers - help please (CQG)

I have. My understanding is that you are supposed to build it from bars (30 minutes in what I read). Just calculate the high and low for each bar and plot all of the prices in between. Then you won't have to worry about missed prices.

    Laptop/notebook PC recommendations anyone?

I really want to get a WUXGA (widescreen 1900x1200) laptop, but my current one won't die so I can't really justify it yet. That would be my recommendation.

Logging into IB on public PCs

As long as you're not using up your ultra-limited bandwidth by surfing the net at the same time and are watching a limited number of symbols. Streaming quote data is pretty low bandwidth. Obviously, you wouldn't want this to be your every day trading platform, but it works in a pinch. In...

Logging into IB on public PCs

There is a pretty good possibility they wouldn't have the appropriate firewall port open (4000 I think). This would be the first thing to suspect if you get stuck on the login screen. There's also the fact that if you do get going, your account number can appear in different files in the...

    programming question

If you are looking for low-cost, then there are these two, both under $100/month: http://www.mytrack.com/sdk/ http://www.iqfeed.net/dev/index.cfm If you are looking for more expensive feeds, there are a bunch more. Try looking through the archives, searching for iqfeed or mytrack. You...

Do you give friends/family trading advice when asked?

I don't get asked. I don't know one person who trades. This is one reason I enjoy this board. It's the only chance I get to interact with other traders.

You're killing me with your typing. See the difference between you're and your? Maybe you need "Grammar from A-Z". dbphoenix was being helpful. Try not to be so rude in return.

    Avg Daily Trding Range ES,NQ

I haven't been keeping up the intraday e-mini data in my database, just EOD. I trade stocks and use the e-mini data as an overall market reference to try and trade on the correct side of the market.

New Discovery sends Astronomers back to drawing board

If anyone ever gets a chance to see the "movies" in the new Natural Museum of Science Planetarium in New York City, they should do so. The one that Tom Hanks narrates can make one feel very small.
