Does it make any sense to 'go in the farm business' 'buy farmland'?

The only way we ever made any money farming was to sell out to developers...chance of that happening now, slim & none. Even then we got it back 4 times, started call it Yo-Yo Acres:)

Muni bonds selling a full 100 bps above 5 year treasuries

canuckrookie: I read an article a couple months ago about this. Their investors wanted their money, and the funds could only sell their good assets(munis, etc.) quickly[no market for CDO's:)]. As the price for munis is depressed, all funds holding those muni bonds are seeing their NAV go...

    Day-Trading with options?

shortorlong: research buying DOTM puts/calls, they usually have a better ROI than near ATM's. I prefer IWM, it too has penny spreads. Example: 2/22, IWM consolidated all day below 69. At BO to upside you could have bought a Mar75Call@0.30 and easily sold it 2/26 @0.60...that's 100% ROI in 2...

Is Bush really the worst President ever - Economically the answer is YES

John McCain maybe standing on a small hard spot in the middle of quick sand, aka Charlie Keating, American Continental, & Lincoln Thrift. As an AZ native, I'm just waiting for the media to ask the money question...I forgot, it's called campaign contributions:)

    Why Would You Trade ETF's?

ETFs have Options...IWM & QQQQ's are penny spreads. SPY & QQQQ have Ultra Long & Short's(2X price movement). Why by the stock when you can get almost the same price range as the underlying using synthetic longs/shorts, for small change or even a credit? Use the same market timing tactics...

    Sceptre Monitor? (24inch)

Try OfficeMax.com, they have a SOYO 24" for $299. I have 4 of them, happy so far. Have 8 Sceptre 19's, each one bought was less well made, dead pixels has been the major problem.

Someone gives you $50,000. Where do you put it right now?

Look at Muni-ETFs from your state, double tax-free and probably less risk than your big banks. Some states are yielding around 7%, that's near 10% taxable. Panic selling and more carry-trade unwinding could push yields up to the 10-12% area...that yield will suck money off the moon:) A 30%+...

    $1/watt solar??

Amorphous crystal solar panels were invented about 30 yrs ago by a Dr. Orshinsky(spelling ??). His method was to spray the silicon onto aluminum rolls, very cheap to produce. I believe Kyocera bought the patent...no one in US would fund him.

I think Suri Duddella's book is the best training value...next would be Jim Kane's Trading course.

85% of traders dont understand trading.

That's IT...you've found the "holy grail". And the only indicator that identifies that NO SUPPLY/NO DEMAND condition are the Bid & Ask. Plot them on your tick chart...when they go past the last print and come back several times, it means they are testing SUPPLY/DEMAND. If no trades at those...

HERE COME DA JUDGE by Bill Bonner Mr. C.A. Boyko recently fired a shot that was heard ’round the world. At least ’round the world of structured finance. Or, at least, ’round the world of Deutsche Bank, who got a bullet in the head. Poor Deutsche Bank is the victim of its own...
