Rep. Darrell Issa *destroys* the NLRB

Thanks 377OHMS. You made a good point about employee-owned companies being less likely to want to move jobs overseas. I agree that employee-owned companies, and even customer-owned coops are very much an "American" way to do things. I think what you said about employee-owned companies...

Rep. Darrell Issa *destroys* the NLRB

I liked this line: His crusade against the National Labor Relations Board—"...."—makes sense only if you are a subscriber to the nihilist worldview that virtually all government agencies are corrupt, socialist minions of Obama. To me this worldview makes perfect sense. Does that make...

Please List All Autotrading Vehicles You Know and Any Brokers Offering Them

I'm not reccommending either one but if you like Tradestation you might want to compare it to Multicharts, which is mostly compatible with Tradestation easylanguage and somewhat cheaper, and doesn't require you to use Tradestation brokerage or buy data from Tradestation.

Zen Fire lags CQG.avi -AUGUST 9, 2011 -25 SECONDS LAG!!!

Zenfire and Rithmic are not precisely the same. Zenfire uses Rithmic technology but Zenfire and Rithmic are different services run on different servers by different administrators/companies so one should not assume that poor performance observed by Zenfire means Rithmic will also be poor. It...

Please List All Autotrading Vehicles You Know and Any Brokers Offering Them

Kind of a huge subject - there are many different autotrading platforms out there ranging from retail-friendly software options like Tradstation, Ninjatrader, Multicharts, and Metatrader to online services like zulutrade (terrible rep as far as I know) , collective2, tradency, to brokers like...

IBuyPower.com... They'll buid it for you for about the "cost of parts"

IbuyPower and CyberpowerPC are very similar in prices and selection. I bought a pc from cyberpower about 6 months ago and have been pretty happy with the value I got for my money and their customer support had been decent. Much less crapware pre-installed than you typically get with an HP or...

We need the gold standard back.

Spot on. I would go so far as to say the ONLY purpose of paper fiat money is to transfer wealth from savers to paper money printers, which in the case of our modern economy are banking cartels. Many people realize that they are losing wealth to inflation, and that their money's value is...

CME: Illinois Tax 'Untenable', Looking South

Thank god for tax competition. It's the only thing keeping state taxes from getting ridiculously high. I would like to see all federal taxes moved to the state or local level where they would be subject to competitive pressures. Let the states with the best mix of taxes vs services...

    is there such a thing...

Options list the probability of expiring at various strikes for weekly and monthly options. If you need this data for periods other than when options expire, maybe you could use the same methods used to calculate options prices.

I took the Series 56 today

What would be the motivation for wanting to get rid of daytraders? Aren't daytraders producing commissons and profits for the industry? Or do you think that too many are successful and they're viewed as competition to be stamped out? I don't have any problem believing in hidden agendas but I'm...

Chevy Volt a lemon for GM. Current administration makes sour lemonade.

In spite of how much I dislike GM and its taxpayer funded dysfunction, I'm hoping the concept of the Volt works out. Obviously it's not going to be efficient for long trips, but for many commuters it should hit the efficiency sweet spot while still allowing them the option of longer trips if...

Republicans: Trillions Could Be Cut from Budget if We Eliminate Empathy

Sorry but taxing and spending other people's money on your social improvement schemes is not a display of "empathy".

    British opposition want VAT cut

Well said. It's a sad sight to see when people end up voting for the very thieves that are impoverishing them, in exchange for empty promises and a few stolen handouts.

Best for Portfolio Testing - Amibroker or Ninja Trader?

Amibroker has a reputation for solid portfolio backtesting, though I haven't used it personally. Ninja backtesting generally sucks, in my experience. I wouldn't bother trying to backtest portfolios in Ninja.

Trade the News -- any good?

They're too arrogant or lazy for me. Their web site contains no information at all about their services.. no pricing, no description of what it is they offer, just a signup form. I'm still not entirely sure what it is they offer exactly. To get a guest pass, you need to sign up to another...

US Post Office is prototypical for a future bankrupt America

Their monopoly on first class mail is a subsidy which has real costs to consumers in the form of higher costs and poorer service. You can argue that maybe the monopoly is justified, but it's not accurate to say that a monopoly has no costs. Monopolies always come with a cost.

MT4 Forex Broker for 3-5K USD - Have some ideas?

Most mt4 brokers are bucket shops, meaning they can trade against you and their interests are not aligned with yours. The MT4 platform has many broker-side 'features' specifically designed to allow brokers to take advantage of users by manipulating the spread, delaying orders, interfering with...

Department of Labor proposals regarding who is considered a fiduciary

At the very least, people, companies, and unions who receive any money from the government (ie take money from other taxpayers) should not be allowed to contribute to campaigns or participate in politics. Or vote.
