That was real good. Very funny. Appropriate too. How do I embed a picture? Or does it do it automatically when I attach one? MM

Trading breakouts, scanning for potential trades

Hi, Better yet, shoot me your email in a PM and I will send you my CBO AFL code. You may have to modify it a tad as I use the TC2005 as the data feed and in the report columns I list the MG # and Industry name. But those should be easy to comment out. Regards, MM

    Hidden Fees in IB

Interesting article, and one that points to the risks in this type of trade. I understand that this "carry trade" is brought on by Japan's almost zero % interest rate. And that the risks of any increase in rates will give rise to the JPY currency and easily wipe out any profits from interest...

    Hidden Fees in IB

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I am a little puzzled as to why you say I am late the to carry trade game. Be nice, as I have not traded FOREX yet. Right now I am just learning what I can and that was a type of trade that was appropriate to use as an example for the situation...

Please Help - Etrade cost me $2,500 today

You can start by looking at this page: http://tinyurl.com/37sjcb What I find interesting is the statement: "Average elapsed time between market order receipt and execution - 3.7 seconds" Actually I find a lot of interesting statements on that page. Trade well, MM

Please Help - Etrade cost me $2,500 today

I think you should call them and ask the question: Do they allow you to route directly to ECNs and exchanges without any intermediaries? Is this true for all stocks? And any other questions you can think of. But the real question is what kind of trader are you? What is your style? How...

    Hidden Fees in IB

Question for all, Should I buy $15,000 of the NZDJPY or AUDJPY cross which pays out a respectable interest of around 7%, am I to understand that I will not get paid interest earned on the 1st $10,000? Regards, MM

Trading breakouts, scanning for potential trades

    Using TC2005 (TC2007 as they call it now) is simple. This is my Congestion Breakout scan: C > (C1 + .25) AND C > O AND V >= (1.5 * (AVGV50)) AND (C) > (MAXC30.1) AND ((MAXC30.1) - (MINC30.1)) / (MAXC30.1) <= 0.2 Running it tonight finds 93 stocks. Ones like TGI, CEC, CNA, ATI...

Hi MK and all, Just a quick note to thank everyone for their comments. I am slammed at the moment and will try to respond in detail later but certainly appreciate the suggestions so far. Hey, I would be glad to share my cheat sheet with anyone who would like a copy and also would...

    Asian Markets

Thanks for the tip MK, I am having a hard time determining the value of each point and the number of ticks per point for these Asian futures. You know, like with the ER2 it has a value of $100 per point and each point has 10 ticks ($10/tick). Do you have a cheat sheet table that you can...

    Asian Markets

Hi MK, Here is a list of what I believe to be approved futures contracts available to US residents: http://www.cftc.gov/opa/backgrounder/opapart30.htm The KOSPI is in the Pending list at the bottom. So thanks for the tip. Regards, MM PS. For you folks using IB to trade the...

    Asian Markets

Hi PointOne, I guess a few of us would like to do our due diligence on all of the available brokers that will allow us to trade the Asian futures. As you know not all brokers are equal. Personally I am having a hard time finding a good list to investigate. So far I think I have...

Using Tradestation as a charting package

Hi, I did forget to mention that you can check out MultiCharts at: http://www.tssupport.com/products/multicharts/ If all you are looking for is a charting software that provides you Easy Language capability and has similar look at feel as that as TS. Just curious, why don't you want to...

Using Tradestation as a charting package

Hi, I am fairly certain that TS cannot be used as a data feed to other charting packages if that is what you were asking. But I could be wrong as new software pops up all the time. Trade well, MM

Using Tradestation as a charting package

Hi VT, Thanks for explaining why TS didn't meet you needs. I am more of a 5 min bar to 15 min bar trader and do not need the speed. At least not yet :) And thanks for extending the offer to show me your method, that's generous of you but I will take a rain check if you don't mind. I...

Please Help - Etrade cost me $2,500 today

Hi Mike, There really isn't anything you can do sorry to say. FWIW, I was a customer of ETrade and used ETrade Pro as my platform. I do laugh when I see ETrade Pro mention they are a direct access trading (DAT) platform. Direct Access to who? LOL. Directly to their market makers...

Using Tradestation as a charting package

"I do Scalp trading and Trend trading....but I am mainly a Scalper....and the TS Matrix....sucks for my way of Scalping. It is way to slow for me. I tried it....didn't like it." ------------------------------------------ Could you expand on what your method is and why the TS Matrix Window...

Using Tradestation as a charting package

I do know that you would save money by opening up a futures account and depositing $5K. Then the monthly cost would be the base fee of $99 plus exchange fees for your data. Otherwise I believe they charge $189 or around there (can't check website as it is down for maintenance at the moment)...
