    Alienware PC's

Oh i see... I had the impression you would rather look at men in 3 piece suits rather than girls in 2 piece bikinis. Phew, I was a bit worried for a sec :p

not all traders in new york are successful traders. I don't think moving to NY would be the answer. When I was in the military they had this saying, "There are two best assignments in the military. The base that you are going to, and the base you just came from." Who knows, you could end...

My friend has an obnoxious wife. He blames the fan when he doesn't hear her requests. :D

comparisons.. my favorite exercise. Bronks, you are about the noise level of a boom stereo in a car passing by my neighborhood. :D I'm just teasing... but seriously :p

My IBM thinkpad is much quiter than my previous laptop, which was an HP pavilion. Noise isn't much a problem because I usually have music playing anyways. Bronks, you in hawaii? That's awesome. I thought you lived in the Bronks :D I'm in pacific time... hours are horrible. I think I'd...

Alienware is good... but a bit expensive. Do you have Fry's Electronics in your area? A friend built a computer from parts they sell there. It was pretty much as good as is it gets, and he spent 1K for it (no monitor) I've never built one, but it seems rather simple. Now getting the right...

I never tested this myself, but merely observed it. It does make sense though.

Great to hear how you are evolving Chinook :D There are pros and cons about mechanical trading. Markets evolve, so the performance can fluctuate imo. I have learned not to try and optimize an exit strategy or try and develop too many filters. I think there is a happy medium and that should...

Average Pips move profit per day in FX Markets

I use barchart, macd, and another indicator for my exit strategy... and no to your other questions. I wanted to try using ATR's for exit strategy but I'm too lazy to calculate things. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40343 this is a good thread. It doesn't really...

Average Pips move profit per day in FX Markets

my stops can range anwyhere from 20-80 pips.... on average it is 45 pips. With 65% accuracy, and average reward/risk ratio of 3. Anywhere from 1-2 dozen trades per month. Remember, pound is a bit more volatile than euro. If I were to trade the euro my risks would be a bit less (my guess...

Average Pips move profit per day in FX Markets

Swoop, I agree with you, but I think Nana considers average pip per day for analysis purposes.... like some would use expectancy for analysis purposes.

Average Pips move profit per day in FX Markets

Actually, I sort of disagree. 100+ pip trades can be done in a 24hr period. Monday I shorted the pound for 223 pip profit... that trade was 15 hrs long. Not all are winners of course. Also had -28 pip, -24 pip loss, and today was breakeven trade. When I first got interested in trading I...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

breakeven trades for me... Regular account closed at b/e, and prices slipped past my b/e stop on my mini account. I wasn't sure if they were processing my order, or if my stop wasn't going to be honored. I didn't want to close it manually because it could reverse my position and go long...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

csaunders, We're all human. I took December off because I wasn't quite focused, and I started to become afraid of losing money. I was doing well psychologically but I started to be afraid... and I wasn't even risking my money at this point, but the houses. Expectations was the cause of my...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

If this is the case then it is sometimes best to stay out during this time. Imo I don't think it's healthy to worry, and can be damaging to the account as well. Anything can happen. It's the only known fact, but with a good enough edge it can be easier to accept risk psychologically...
