There are at least 30,000 confirmed cases. Only 389 deaths. Only about a 1% mortality rate

When you see what is happening in Italy, and your own country isn't that bad yet, you have to ask yourself, do we really want this in our country in 2 weeks? The message was loud and clear from many sources. If you didn't want that kind of health scare, then you need to lock down. I think the...

There are at least 30,000 confirmed cases. Only 389 deaths. Only about a 1% mortality rate

The writing was already on the wall for a long time. This rally wasn't sustainable, and honestly, modern economic life isn't either. Western countries all consume much more than they produce. All that this virus did was bring all these issues to the forefront in a very fast way. I mean come...

Lastly, you're being extremely selfish. You can only see what this is doing to your daily quality of life. There are many young people who rely on healthcare. Its not just the old. And I'm sure even you know a few old people that you care for. Its a shame that you don't want to make some...

There are at least 30,000 confirmed cases. Only 389 deaths. Only about a 1% mortality rate

I love how you think that you know better than the medical professionals. You think its so easy to just lock the old people up, throw away the key, and assume others won't give it to them? I think you will have your wish soon though of being able to see how this would all turn out. It seems...

There are at least 30,000 confirmed cases. Only 389 deaths. Only about a 1% mortality rate

For all you guys who think this is nothing that bad, I wish we could split the city you live in into two pieces. Those who want to carry on like normal may do so, but full well knowing that if they run into trouble there won't be any help. You can go out to dine, go out to shop, go to a...

this is a bear market for 10 years.

To those that compare this with 2008, I think we first need to figure out if in fact there was a recovery. For most people, I think the answer is no. Much of this market recovery happened because of stock buybacks, and the FED is still sitting on much of the funny money it had printed...

Is a "V" shape recovery a pipe dream post COVID?

I think we need to once and for all figure out who is moving the market. You constantly hear that its the funds that make up the bulk of the trading and that retail investors are a small piece of the pie. If this is the case, then a huge rally cannot happen, and it cannot be sustainable. I...

During overnight, when one hit the limit price but the other didn't, they still traded. Maybe that for overnight and not during the day though.

So ES hit the 7% limit down, but NQ didn't. According to CME, 7% for NQ is 6914.75. But it too has stopped at 7003.75, far away from the 7% limit down price. Any ideas what?

Excellent link. I find it hard to believe that in all those states, you can have such low numbers of cases. It seems to suggest that the virus is very picky on who it infects. But I think the truth really is, the number of infections is much much higher. I mean you can't infect a few people...

Silly me. Of course I knew that, but for some reason when I punched in the search name, I used ESH and therefore didn't see the new ESM. Thanks!

Can anyone explain to me why ES halted at 2555.50 when the CME said the 5% limit down was 2529.50? The other days we hit limit down, the halt prices published by CME matched what happened in the market.

Interesting how NQ has bumped up against 9093.23 several times now, which was the limit down price from overnight. ES stopped about 6 points short of this key level.

Exactly right. It went right to 7922, but then at 09:34, it dropped some more, below the 7%. I almost wonder if the breaker failed or something like because it lasted just over a minute and then stopped.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Very strange. NQ just traded down to 7820, but it's 7% limit according to the CME was 7922. Right now it sits at -7.93 and its halted.

Yes, but the way I see it is that traders want to trade, they don't want to go home. So once we hit the limit, price runs the other way. At the open, we will have expanded the limit to 7%, so it might continue to drop again, but once again, when we hit 7%, 2759.50, we will get another bounce.

Every time I've seen price hit limit down, there is always a strong bounce. Its about the easiest trade there is.
