I wish!! Distribution clearly continues among tech, holding the bulls at bay. Likely a retest of 71.

Come to Papa. Not sure the selling is over, but the buy programs clearly kicked in at ES 67.50 when the DOW balanced at 11745. ES could get hung up at 75, SPX at 79.

Yep Two words: Op Ex. Billions of dollars are on the line during op ex. The funds with the deepest pockets usually win.

We haven't had a day like this (big range with open high close low) since Nov, and that was amidst a 50 pt correction. And today was the highest volume day in quite some time. I follow Doug Kass a little, and he is currently flat and "waiting for the big short."

The DOW is remaining extraordinarily resilient to this selloff. If the bulls that are holding up a few key components of the DOW capitulate, a massive flush of the YM will be in order.

A 10 pt pullback was convenient, and you could see the buying start before we hit 74.25. Everybody and their grandma was looking at that area including myself. It was last Thursday's RTH high, as well as Friday's high, as well as Tuesday's high, i.e. major major major support. It was also a...

A Dow component or sector is clearly weighing, i.e. being sold off. Nazzie made new highs. SnP was back up at yesterday's high. Dow barely got to yesterday's close. When that component or sector moves back into a value area and/or the fund(s) is/are done liquidating, the bull party will...

Gov't default. And I'm not talking about the Feds. All across the country states, counties, and munis are literally bankrupt, and it's not improving. Budgets are greater than revenue, with HUGE deficits. Gov'ts are giving IOUs, creditors are freezing lines, bondholders (now holding in essence...

It doesn't matter who the seller is, but they, and prop desks, money managers, et al, can move the market like that. It's just important to recognize the disparate price action, know that it's probably liquidation, and typically ends with a flush/spike. Then like clockwork, the buy programs kick...

Hedge/mutual/pension liquidation. Selling off assets to make room for others, or get back in at a lower price. The market is going up, after all.

We may pullback, but not like yesterday. The NQ price action yesterday morning said it all. It was clearly having major troubles, aka fund distribution, compared to the ES and YM. Then buyers finally capitulated and we had the drop. Once the distribution was complete, buying resumed.
