EUR is probably a good short. The threat of USD QE3 was the thing that kept EUR higher than it shoulda been all time, but now people realize it's later than sooner, whereas problems in Europe are sooner than later. 30 year is fairly tame today relative to the decline in stocks. I think...

Wow this market moves up so easily

Nice way to generate more commissions. I wonder how many clients lost money on their QE3 was coming yesterday call? Half the investment banks got that wrong.

All very true. I've had some bad experiences trading when a market "should" move based on this or that cycle, but doesn't. Also had negative experiences with being too opinionated that a market must do something based on certain fundamentals, sentiment, and/or technical indicator.

    Nice down move in Gold

Talk about a delayed reaction to yesterday's Twist. No, I'm not short Gold in case you were wondering in the back of your mind.

I used to have a wicked serve when I played regularly and used weights. Could have easily picked up on a girl at tennis class in a community college, if she was only more attractive. Tennis can be useful sometimes in that regard.

Probably a sell-off on a no QE3 annoucement, but if Operation Twist is extended I can see SPX closing flat on the day, maybe even slightly positive.

    Everyone is BUYING

Makes sense. I don't see the Fed shooting its QE3 bullet right now when it doesn't need to and when the market is rallying hard already without any QE, just simply Op Twist.

    ES Journal - 2012

Often it can be pointless to seek an explanation for why stocks are going up or down. It can go up or down on good news and up or down on bad news, esp. with the relationships overturned in the bizarro world of central bank expectations. The financial coverage explaining the moves only do so...

    George Fontanills

Yes, his original ~ $295 Optionetics course from the mid 1990s was nothing but a rehash of basic options strategies that now can be found for free online, or in a $19 options book. I did subsequently receive invitations to attend free seminars, but I never went.

The Central Banks promise to act rally

I wonder how long this will last. After Greece, Spain will be in sights, but should the SPX decline 20 points due to Spain, will another rumour come out about imminent action and skyrocket the market even higher? This can float for a long time on nothing but hope.

    ES Journal - 2012

Being short over the Greece election weekend worried me, so no positions for me. I couldn't see any downside and only upside this weekend. Recall Euro/USD broke down from its 1.30 support level during the first big fat Greek election. Either: 1. New Democracy wins (probable scenario). Euro...

I would like to see a ND victory. Probabilities from secret polls and Intrade seem to favor it. Euro/USD would soar, which would initially cause correlated SPX to soar as well. No Grexit any time soon. Der Deutschmen to boot them out for that to happen because the Greeks are not leaving...
