What kind of Edge you have?

Can you give an example of what you meant by 'an edge in finding a new edge' ? I believe that some edges do work for a very long period of time, and possibly won't fade away. Any thoughts?

What kind of Edge you have?

I do agree with you to a certain extent, because I myself have not found any price action which is profitable in the 5 minute or the 1 minute time frame. But I sometimes wonder how some traders trade ES intraday profitably. Not a year, but profitable for many years.

What kind of Edge you have?

Sounds like a very simple system. I have actually tested a moving average crossover system with ATR stops. It worked however the MAs' parameters had to be optimised. Therefore, I had no confidence in them as the market now will not be the same as the market in the future (based on MA crossover...

What kind of Edge you have?

Autodidact, I have looked at your votes, you seemed to have ticked most of the edges. I would like to know if you really have those edges or you were just simply ticking. [serious question]

Probably you are right to say that I have no edge. But I do not go around bashing people.

What kind of Edge you have?

I have been reading your posts for quite some time now. I saw your journal was in the hall of fame, i will read through them hoping to get some ideas on how you trade.

What kind of Edge you have?

Why? They are not sharing what exactly their edges are. This is merely sharing a rough idea of what your edges are based on.

What kind of Edge you have?

I may not have stated all the possible edges, but it would be good if everyone could tell specifically what type your edges are. Also, does your edge(s) work temporarily or permanently (since you started using them till now) ?

Carrer's PnL (The Journey of a Poor Trader)

Talking about my thresh-hold for gains, I would rather follow a system, which has been tested. I will exit when the system says so and will hold as long as there is no sell signal from the system. Because when you follow the system, you can keep your trading results more predictable. Regarding...

Carrer's PnL (The Journey of a Poor Trader)

Hi JesseJamesFinn, No, you are not insulting me. First of all, I am not a profitable trader. If someone were to sponsor me, I don't see any point/benefit of him/her doing that. However, if I have a profitable system, then I might consider. But frankly, I am not very comfortable managing other...

Carrer's PnL (The Journey of a Poor Trader)

I sometimes wonder why traders with uncomplicated strategy could be very profitable in the market. Take Jesse Livermore for example, he was making money by just looking at the price quotes. Traders in the past did not have complex systems like Elliot wave, Patterns, algorithms, etc, yet they...

Carrer's PnL (The Journey of a Poor Trader)

Since I started this journal, things tend to work in the reverse. Instead of being conservative with my risk, I increased the risk, trying to prove to the traders here that I could make money. Due to this, I opened many positions and end up losing about 40% of my equity.
