Anyone subscribe to OptionMonster InsideOptions Pro?

$500 per month? Let me see, if I can get 10 subscribers, that's $5,000 per month. Maybe I should start thinking of puting out a newsletter.;)

A 164-Year-Old Idea Helps Explain the Huge Changes Sweeping the World's Workforce

If Trump wins the U.S. corporate tax rate is coming down to 15% or lower. :D

A 164-Year-Old Idea Helps Explain the Huge Changes Sweeping the World's Workforce

IMHO… globalization, free trade? (every time I order something from the U.S., I pay duty) or whatever weasel word is the flavor of the day, is a race to the bottom. I'm fortunate enough to have some real estate and other investment, but I certainly feel for the middle class that's been gutted.

    Trading very big money

Do just like Bill Gates, buy a trainload of CN, and then do the Donald Trump thing and buy commercial real estate.

    TMX options feed

The TMX has not been updating their options feed since 8:15 this morning (July 14). I've tried emailing three different times, telephoning (only to get voicemail). I actually trade with RBC direct, but find TMX option lists layout superior. If someone could check this out, and let me know if...

    LEAPS/major oil stocks

I used to go long DITM calls, and did very well until the oil collapse :banghead:, and a delta of 75 to 80, or very close to it, seems to work the best, IMHO.

    Straddles, are they ever profitable?

Your thoughts are exactly why I seldom play regular straddles. As a long only player, iv is a nightmare, no matter whether call or put. I been experimenting with delta neutral long synthetics (2:1), and if the stock goes up, the put iv naturally starts to decline. However the stock is climbing...

    Straddles, are they ever profitable?

Though I don't like to short stock, but yes, Bobby is better off. Paper trade it.

    Straddles, are they ever profitable?

Not sure we are on the same page here: Long put synthetic straddle: 100 share of stock = 100 deltas 2 ATM puts = 100 deltas

    Straddles, are they ever profitable?

Your interpretation of what I said is skewed. I've been talking about synthetics only. You're talking regular straddles. The example I gave was an extreme only. Bottom line is a long synthetic is far less risky than a traditional straddle…that's my two cents.

    Straddles, are they ever profitable?

On one side of the long straddle, you don't have theta or any of the greeks to contend with. Every 100 shares of stock is worth 100 deltas. It's a delta neutral set up, with lots of possibilities for adjustments. Even if your stock fell to $0.00, the delta neutral puts that were purchased at...

    Straddles, are they ever profitable?

IMO… I find long synthetic straddles is the best way to manage risk. Plus, you're only fighting the greeks from one side. They're good for swings and volatile (moderately high HV) ER's. Biggest drawback, cost more to play.

Where would you invest in this post Brexit world?

It doesn't seem to matter what the markets are doing, the above mentioned stocks (metals) gyrate all over the place. There's about 5 of them on the TMX/TSX (Canada) that line up for perfect, synthetic straddle, swing trades. Oil's another commodity to consider. Too much uncertainty in the...

Where would you invest in this post Brexit world?

Barrick, Goldcorp, Silver Wheaton etc… metal equities that are liquid, and gyrate a lot.

    Critique my Brexit option play

I'm not a senior trader, but here's my two cents worth: If you're coming in that late, I would consider a long delta neutral straddle of some sort. Like someone else has said, the stay side was already baked in the price.

    Balancing DITM with Expiration

Back test, and which ever scenario shows the smallest potential loss is your answer, IMHO.
