    Scary Futures - DAX? HSI?

Yes, DAX is thin. stoxx50 is much better. Although there are hidden liquidity, HIs is generally thin. The spread can be somewhere between 1 to 3-5 ticks. How large is natural gas market?

    Trading halts

Thanks for your valuable advice. As the gap is going to open in the direction of the intraday direction, I shouldn't close the position before it reaches the limit. What does it usually do after the market limits? Keep going down or fill the gap?

    Scary Futures - DAX? HSI?

Hmm... From what you describe, it isn't that volate, in terms of tick. HSI moves 1XX-2XX ticks in a matter of less than 1 minute. Rather it is the price of each tick which makes it scary.

    Price improvement with IB

Thanks. I've read this already. But the page doesn't say how it works and how it's better than unmarked big orders (big orders without block mark).

    Trading halts

What do you guys deal with the situation where the price rises/drops beyond its limit and comes to a temporary halt? Let's say the market drops beyond its limit. When it re-opens, what will it usually happen? Will the price keep in the same trend (ie dropping)? If so, will it open at more...

Thanks for your response. I'll stick with marketable limit all the time.

    Scary Futures - DAX? HSI?

But are they very non-famous guys? If they are too thin, strange things may happen. What do you feel about DAX? I don't know much about it. How fast and how large can it move (normally)?

Market order vs "Marketable" limit order

Don Bright, The specialist fill the shares himself. What does it imply? Should I (not) fill by market orders?

    Price improvement with IB

Not particular to your case (ie BOX). I'm not too sure, but there are some people who tells me you may be better off if you know how to best route your orders directly. So using smart-routing is not always "smart". :(

    Price improvement with IB

I don't get it. What's the difference between sending: - a big order (without marking block order) and - a big order (with marking block order) ??

E-Mini (ES) or S&P Big (SP)

Emini has the largest volume. S&P has only ~1/8. I'm not sure, but it seems S&P has a period where only telephone orders are accepted.

    Scary Futures - DAX? HSI?

I heard DAX moves very quick. But normally how fast and how large can it move? Is it even scarier than HSI? HSI is worth HKD50 (~USD6.5) per 1 point. It may move by 1XX-2XX points (once 3XX) in a matter of less than 1 minute. The cost is ~USD1282 for 200 points. So far, I couldn't...

    DAX Help Questions

No, some futures market don't have limits. If it opens as if it were a new day, it may have a big gap, so it appears we should close the positions before hitting the limits.

IB commissions for low priced stocks

Plan C is flat rates up to 4000 shares. After that, it is not flat rates ($0.01 per shares). Anyway I just point out some direct-access brokers do offer flat-rates. Sure they have additional conditions or terms. There's no true cheap flat-rates in the world. They must earn their money...

Err... Where's the attachment? Try again.

Yes, it has. See http://www.mbtrading.com/ratesStocks.asp (It has a fixed-price plan, but a direct-access firm. Read carefully for the terms and real costs!)
