Nice to see that I'm not the only one seeing this chart pattern with INTC, I posted a very similar chart a bit earlier this evening (hadn't seen your post). <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1015194>

    Comments on INTC?

I've been watching INTC fairly closely for the past couple of months, stock has been in a narrowing descending channel, closed at $19.62 today. I personally think that INTC has been dropping the ball for a couple of years from now, but given their recent presentations at the IDF, it looks...

    Gold and Oil at/near Peaks?

Oil I agree with, gold I do not. I have some serious doubts about oil's ability to remain at around the current levels, but I feel that gold has a pretty good chance of increasing in value given the current US monetary policy.

    Job opportunities in Canada

I can't be of much help here, but I personally plan on getting my CSC as soon as I'm done university. Even somewhat tempted to do it before then...

That sounds about right to me for Ontario property taxes. I can't really quote numbers/percentages to you for property taxes, I just have a general sense of amounts from having dealt with customers from various parts of Canada. Regarding the trading hours issue, I view that as both a positive...

Fixed mortgage rates are around 4.9% thru 5.6% for 1yr thru 10 yr terms respectively, the spread between short-term and long-term rates is very low right now. There are probably many areas of Canada that are cheaper than some areas of the US, but I would not say that our residential real estate...

I agree that fixed rate mortgages currently make much more sense than variable rate mortgages, at least in Canada. 2-3 years ago, variable rate mortgages had rates that were significantly below fixed rates (I'm at home so I don't have access to rate history, but let's say about 2% difference)...

That's a pretty whacky website, haven't seen it before. Collective lending and borrowing? That must be an administrative nightmare. I don't see how it could be economical to lend someone $200 at 8%, more specifically how that would be administratively economical...

What are the assumed problems/market outcomes of account deficits?

That's a pretty good summary "niceneasy", and I have to say that I'm with you on many of your speculations (though I'm a Canadian). I've been watching some of the actions of the US with growing disbelief, and I'm starting to get more concerned that the poop is really going to hit the fan in the...

    Chart watch - TZOO

For what it's worth, it looks like TZOO has now failed the set-up, and has now broken down a bit further.

Would you consider AKAM to be a good example of what you are describing? I've started reviewing charts on pretty much a nightly basis and setting alerts for myself. AKAM is breaking above $27 as I write this (and no, I didn't trade it, been watching another stock).

Depends on what you mean by losing their house, but I'm guessing that you mean a distressed sale and/or foreclosure. If that is the case, the answer is definately that they will rent. I'm faced with this issue myself, and I can tell you that the current answer to your question is rent...

More Americans are losing their homes

I'm sorry, but right now would likely be the dumbest possible time to load up on real estate. Also, if your argument regarding the relationship between currency valuations and housing prices were true, Canadian real estate would have dropped in value over the past couple of years.

    selling stocks/mutual funds

It really depends. My perception is that these types of jobs can be difficult to break into at an entry level, since many postings I see seem to require previous experience and/or formal certification. The other thing is that I think they would likely be looking for you to have completed some...

Thanks for your response, it's given me another option to consider once I reach the point of pursuing trading on a more serious basis.

    Chart watch - TZOO

I was thinking more like $19 or so, but otherwise I agree. I need something more decisive than the current action before I will actually open a long position. Things look good, but it still looks like the stock could go either way.

Which provinces are you now approved for? I'm guessing that you have to apply to securities commission for each and every province? The reason I ask is that the last time I called out to BC, they advised me that Bright did not support Alberta at that time.

You know what I don't get about this article? How is it that this guy could think that $3,000 was a reasonable price for an: "Attractive, warm, two-story home" that "has great potential." Then he proceeds to be dumb enough to send $7,000 to a "contractor" that is friends with the original seller?

    Chart watch - TZOO

Difficult to say. I think the problem is that TZOO is so small relative to the likes of GOOG or YHOO that a buyout may not make sense. Then again, I suppose that one of the bigger companies could buy TZOO, then pump some megabucks into the concept to generate larger revenue streams than TZOO...
